Very timely post by my friend RYAN GOODMAN about integrity when people aren't looking.  Take the time to think how what we do and say, that is common place for us, may be surprising to a casual observer.  It happened to me. I had an off the cuff comment I made to my sons when they drove me nuts, which one of my son repeated to a classmate which landed him in the principal's office.
Great article Ryan. We should be cognizant of how our words can be misperceived and misinterpreted.  Digest the insight and choose to act with clearer words and actions in the future.
Integrity is who you are when you think no one's looking. Not that what you're doing is wrong, but never assume others see things the way you do. We should always be prepared to share why we do thi...

This is a very informative piece. However, it misses a less controversial form of pet custody that often meets the needs of the pet ex's more fully than the adversarial court process. If your don't have a pup-nup don't rush to the courthouse. If you mediate the disagreement you can often resolve the conflict in less time, for less cost and retain a future relationship. Dogs and cats don't usually choose sides in a family relationship dispute. If something happens to one ex maybe the other ex is the better future caregiver for the pet. Learning how to keep the best interests of the pet top of mind before, during or after a relationship breakup will have everyone focus of the needs of their beloved pet short term and long term.

Two years late...but I think we find things as we need them.  I am kinder now which is why I now help people resolve conflicts involving animal issues using mediation.  I just wish I had listened to that voice in 1983 when I graduated from law school.  Read, comment and share please!!

This is a very important review of where mediation currently is and where some of us think it should be striving to go.  Read, understand the real purpose of mediation and enjoy.

Applying it to pet custody as well is a no brainer!
In a 12-year long study of the effects of divorce mediation outcomes involving a high conflict group - families who had filed for contested custody hearing, it was proved that those families who
