Really happy to hear it, Gyi!

Getting there... At the risk of stating the obvious, what a difference that merely resolving inconsistencies has on local search visibility. Thanks +Moz Local (+Moz) +David Mihm

C'mon Google. You should know better.  Rank this place for "craft beer" "microbreweries" "best taplist" and all related terms.

I was pretty desperate to find a decent list of microbrews / craft beers in an otherwise desolate cultural landscape. Multiple Google reviewers pointed me to St. James Brasserie, but I was unconvinced by their website. Luckily as I was driving there I happened to spot this place out of the corner of my eye on the west side of Virginia St. Could not have been more satisfied with the hipster ambiance or taplist, which included Ballast Point Sculpin, Drake's 1500, and Blanche du Bruxelles. They don't serve food but you can walk around the corner to Laughing Planet and grab a burrito to bring in. Absolutely recommend this place if you are ever in Reno.

Five of six predictions for 2013 made by our expert in local search have come true. The odd one out? Foursquare. Instead of moving toward acquisition, Foursquare seems to be positioning itself to become the premier aggregator of local data.

IIRC, Foursquare is the only major citation source that offers business owners to pay to claim their listing immediately - instead of waiting days/weeks. I'm sure that revenue is a nice incentive for them continuing the data mining strategy.

My second in the series on designing the best location pages for a business website. This one looks at a business with 2 to a dozen or so locations and has multiple examples.
This is part two of a three-part series on creating the best business location landing pages for your website. Local search ranking factors put a strong trust signal on the location information your own website provides and we’ll explore how to best create your landing page design, experience and data for single location businesses, multi-location [...]

Has Google done anything to improve the spam situation since Brian Seely got all that media attention for spamming the Secret Service and FBI listings? Find out in this interview with Map Maker expert +Dan Austin.

If you are ever in Oakland, this place is RAD. Two Portland roasters (Coava, Heart) and some other great ones. Not to mention blazing wifi. Having lived in Rockridge for many years, I am sad that it wasn't here when I lived here. Why can't all coffee shops be like this?

Super-laid back coffee shop with great wifi, pleasant ambiance, and delicious iced tea. I will be back next time I am in the Mission / Castro.

Nice ambiance, decent coffee, but really rude counter service, even by New York standards.

Maybe the only coffee shop in Nevada that feels like Portland. Multiple choices of organic coffee, plenty of space to spread out on couches or tables to pull up a laptop and work. Breakfast sandwich was perfectly fine. Highly recommend if you hate Starbucks as much as I do.
