Sooooooo...

The Danish embassy just informed me that they've sent my UDS Visa application for "a random background check" that could take "over 60 days". 

No idea why they did that. My American, Canadian and British visa applications in the past were approved within 10 days of applying. For now, it means remote participation is the way to go for the upcoming UDS.
