So it has been an even longer while but here is a new episode of Dead Cells where I unmask The Skull Man. If you like V for Vendetta or Spawn, this one is for you. Hell, maybe even Laid To Rest. It was a tough one to find and isn't streaming anywhere I know of, so the DVD had to be ordered. You can find me on http://splatterpictures.net Dead Air podcast and more on The Skull Man at AnimeList https://myanimelist.net/anime/2161/Skull_Man

If there is anything you think I should be watching, let me know here, on http://nightface.ca or @typicallydia on twitter, instagram, facebook or tumblr.

For a change of pace from the slasher spatter, we cover Suicide Club. No less bloody and just a tad more macabre, this coincidentally comes during a week when the epidemic of suicide in Northern Ontario is really hitting the news. It should not be a taboo subject - since it truly is as it is in this film, a symptom of many things gone massively wrong in a very sick society masquerading as all that is well and good. Right now there are communities here experiencing eleven times the average rate of suicide and a scenario like that was what spawned Suicide Club in the first place. In this case the truth just can’t be stranger than fiction since this film is, in a word, wacko.

One of my most darling slashers of the 80s gets revisited thanks to Grindhouse Releasing and the Dead Air fondness for moldy old horror flicks. The first time I bought this was on VHS for two bucks as Omer’s - a guitar, vacuum and pet food store that also sold movies. What can I say, it was a crazy time in a crazy world. Luckily, we had the escapism of films like ‘Pieces’ to help make sense of things.

For your St. Patrick's Day debauchery, we dispatch a Maniac Cop. Sure, it's a week early but hey, this way you'll be prepared. Or something. You may notice Wes basically Rick-rolls me at the end, because he can.

One of my new favourites, Condemned, on the Dead Air podcast! We get into the gritty underworld of this gritty underworld in more ways than one ~ and all my favourite ways at that. We critique the critique and crawl through the sewer. For you? No! That's just a regular Saturday morning around here...
