The LIghthouse is wonderful inside. Such a charming atmosphere. It is changing ownership, so I hope that the new ownership gets a very good cook there. Portland will not tolerate instant mashed potatoes and canned gravy. Simplify the menu and make real food. I would travel all the way out for that kind of food on my way to Sauvie Island and so would many other people. As it was, the homemade onion rooms were fantastic, but a lot of the other food was typical canned restaurant food, which I cannot stomach. If I'm going to pay about $10 for a sandwich, I want meat you've cooked, expensive bread, au jus you've created, not taken out of a can, and nothing, nothing, nothing frozen. Please, please, please, new owners, make this a fantastic place to eat on the way to Sauvie Island or for a hike, or for locals looking for a hot spot.
