Great food. Great experience. All of the items available that night are written out on the table in front of you as the server explains each dish in detail. The menu seem to change regularly. I chose the duck as a main dish and Diner's twist on consomme as my starter. Both were great. The ambiance was cozy and the wait staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about food and wine. Overall, highly recommended.

Simply the best burger in NY, I've been to them all (I think), beautiful pommes. Family had duck and lamb, equally happy with food. Hip and trendy decor and people. Visit twice during our 1 week stay in NYC. Only negative: Wine a bit pricy. But woaw what a burger, pure heaven!

A fun little hipster brunch place. I have had a couple excellent meals. The food is neo-americana with kale salads and boiled peaches. The decor is that of an abandoned 1950s diner. Service was good and fast (I think they try to turn tables over quickly). It can get crowded, so show up early or expect a small wait. If you are in the neighborhood - it is worth a stop.

We went on a whim to Diner during the recent heatwave. What a great find! It's lovely that the menu changes daily and while the waitress jots some notes on the paper tablecloth to remind you of the items, it's hard to remember the details of all ~12 items, we had to ask her back to the table twice. In the end, it probably doesn't matter what you order, everything was delectable. Won't go into the details of the food items, since they change, but will call out the bruschetta-inspired appetizer: This was hands down one of the best either Jessica or I have eaten. Perfectly created slice of bread with beautiful herbal dressing, egg, and tender beef tongue. We got there fairly early and notices several families dining, so cool that it's family friendly. As long as your kid is not picky (ours is not). There is always a burger on the menu. Two negative dings as to why I can't give five stars. First, the rabbit was over-cooked and chewy. And second, if you walked in you would see a perfect, hipster Diner decor, the name is Diner, the food is far from Diner fare, closer to New American Bistro. For that the decor is definitely sub-par. Also the service started out strong, but as the evening went on and more tables filled, the servers seemed to struggle to keep up. All in all, the food was really good, and prices very reasonable.

Loved everything about this restaurant Diner - the food was so fresh and tasted great, the vibe was retro and relaxing, and the drinks amazing. I can't wait to go back, and I live in Chicago.

Amazing experience both times I've been, once for brunch, once for dinner. Fresh beautifully prepared dishes, and great atmosphere.
