I have to give the Tabard Inn just a 3 Star rating. The impression from the room at the front is totally different from the room where we had our meal. The front is like a cozy pub, the back a very noisy crowded room. The price was reasonable. The food tasted good. However the night we went (Saturday night) the noise level in the back dining room was buried in the red zone of 87 - 93 db the entire time we were there. It was practically impossible to carry on a conversation. Service was only average. We had to keep asking for refills on water (the room was very warm.) It seemed that the wait staff was not very attentive.

The Tabard is one of the most quirky and charming places in DC. Real hidden gem. Get drink on a 100 year old couch by the fireplace and feel like you're overnighting in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. The rooms are old, wooden, eclectically furnished. Stay for brunch the next morning and be sure to get a couple donuts.

Great bunch spot. Make reservations or wait. Love the eggs benedict. Also, the scrambled eggs with creme fresh is delicious.

Cozy hotel that reminds me of staying at a relatives house. Breakfast was a little overpriced though.

My wife and I have been on the search for the best brunch and this is it: BEST BRUNCH IN DC! Order one of their main dishes for brunch, but no matter what you order start off with their beignets. If the weather is nice, ask to be seated outside. With the brick walls and the garden set up, this restaurant reminds me of a cool place in NYC.

The tabard inn is an amazing hotel to stay at in a fantastic location. I definitely recommend it next time you're looking for a place to stay near Dupont. Just a note that they don't have any elevators (in case you have heavy bags or trouble with stairs). The bar is great and makes consistently tasty cocktails. The restaurant is a bit more hit or miss. The breakfast is nice but dinner can fall into the "good but not great" category for a lot of items. The bacon wrapped dtaes were outstanding though!

Great brunch! Get the patio if you can. Amazing. A must try is their donuts. Never had donuts as an appetizer but it works! Made fresh to order serves with a side of creme fresh.
