Riddle of the Week - Dec 3 2017

Mirror of your tongue's desires
Strong at first then quickly tires
Loves the hills, avoids the plains
Giving back all that it gains
Like words from parrots made of stone
Lets you converse when you're alone

Riddle of the Week - Nov 26 2017

A mirrored pair of crystal caves,
Its image on the Widow's skin.
Inhabited by desert slaves,
All of whom are trapped within.
As they tumble to their graves
Drawn down through a passage thin
A score and four the turns they make
Each time that the world spins.

A sentry unmoving
Stands on this flat plain.
His job is to cast
Though not spells arcane.
Marking a passage
That’s never in sight,
He works all the day,
But never at night.

Riddle of the Week - Nov 12 2017

I’ve carried brands
And helped to drive the cattle.
I’ve danger shared
When, war declared,
I’ve turned the tide of battle.
When Helen’s lips
Launched many ships
With thousands came I thither.
But never Troy
Could Greeks destroy
‘Til I did them deliver.

Riddle of the Week - Oct 29 2017

A man who is driven, driven to drink.
Sunburned, cold, pale not pink.
Sleeping in a dirty box.
Through the darkened streets he walks.
Though rarely found in a holy place,
He's born again, but not in grace.

Riddle of the Week - Oct 22 2017

Let's take a trip, not on a ship
Through many states, decreed by fates
If you want, start in Vermont
Get utility for a small fee.
Take a short stride to get a ride
Then perhaps you'll be in Tennessee
Get some joy in Illinois
With the threat of getting wet
Or doing time, e'en with no crime
Stay out of debt and you'll be set.
Perhaps it's best to miss the chest
Even though it's hard to know
Take a stance or take a chance
First you throw and then you go.

The hanging man will tell a tale,
No speech flows from his lips.
His arms are bound while he acts
While others speak the script.
A slave to his master’s whims,
Dangling in his grip.

Riddle of the Week - Oct 8 2017

With out, a way to blow off steam.
With in, a way for ocean stream.
With blood, a way to make one scream.
With ham, a town or Danish scheme?

Like a diamond found above the mine.
Father winter, mother sun.
A dagger aimed at Gaia's heart.
Sheds tears as it's undone

Riddle of the Week - Sep 24 2017

Like tombstones fallen on their sides
With eyes that peer out from the bones.
Half blind sometimes they might go wild,
Two faced players cast in stone.
Danger when they're standing tall
A tiny tap, they clatter, fall.
