for the +Chrysta Rae Photography Scavenger Hunt!

Don't know what that is?
It's an amazing game that has turned into so much more.
If you love photography, and you have a camera,

Simply type "*I'M IN*" in the comments & fill out the Google Form here:
and the first 350 people to sign up will be entered.

After sign ups (after I get everyone organized & invited to the community) there will be 3 posts:
#1 post will be a PARTICIPATION POST
#2 post will be RULES & EXPECTATIONS
#3 post will be HOW THIS ALL WORKS
THEN you will be get an item list - 7 simple things to take pictures of.
This process should all happen by the end of tomorrow latest.

It's up to you to make your picture stand out!!
It's so much fun!!
You will have 8 weeks to get the photos done.

You do NOT need to be a professional shooter.
You do NOT need a fancy camera.
You do NOT need to feel any hesitation on your skill level,
as this group of Scavengers is the most supportive group of people I have ever known.
This is just FOR FUN.
This will get YOU to use your camera in ways you might not do otherwise,
It's to push you to try new things,
learn new techniques,
join a group of like-minded people who will encourage you
and teach you sooo much!
Basically this gives you a fun excuse to take pictures you wouldn't have otherwise!

During the course of the round, you will make friends,
You will have support and be encouraged and be a part of the best community on G+.
You WILL be welcomed and surrounded by wonderful people
who WANT you to watch you succeed and surprise yourself!!

SO, if that sounds like something you'd like to be a part of...
All you have to do is type two simple little words, "*I'M IN*"
Fill out the attached Google Form and you will be registered.

IF YOU ARE SIGNING UP SOMEONE AS A PROXY (if someone has asked you to sign them up) do so on different comments. (don’t worry about the form if you are signing up as a proxy for someone)
And there NEEDS to be G+ account linked to that name.

Only ONE PERSON per comment, if there are more than one on a single comment, only the first person will be entered.
(This is the only way we can keep track of the 350 spots.)

PLEASE DO NOT comment on this post unless it is to sign up.
Any stray comments will be deleted.

PLEASE DO NOT sign up unless you actually want to participate,
not just because you see everyone else doing it.
And with that let the registration BEGIN!!

The example below was from our "JUDGE" album.
These are 9 examples from extraordinary photographers who participated. Images by +Wade Brooks, +Mike Kerr, +Greg Kerr, +Jayme Spoolstra , +Rita Zietsma, +Dana Finster, +Karen Kurta, +Carla McMahon, & +Mary Bel Photography

So just type I'M IN, fill out the google form here:
and you will be included.

After 350 comments are in, comments will be disabled and work on entering everyone will begin. If you are within the first 350, you will be hearing back in the next 1-2 days (it may even be today!) and be invited to join the 24th - CREATIVITY NEVER SLEEPS Round Scavenger Community. Good luck!

+Angela Migliore asked me for the behind the scenes on my Judge image for the 23rd Scavenger Hunt with +Lauri Novak
Here it it, it was quite a simple set up and it wasn't difficult to create.

ETA: sorry the photos are in the wrong order. The last image should be second.

Happy birthday G+ #Gplus5
It is difficult to know what image to post when you haven't posted anything for so long. But thank you G+ plus for making it easy for me. This is my first profile picture. A bathroom mirror selfie with my first DSLR - Canon 40D

I have not been around for some time and for no other reason than my work life is consuming me and my creative energy is running dry. It is temporary and I making plans to get my work life in order so that I once again have time for the thing I enjoy the most - making pictures.

During my time here at G+ I have so much to be grateful for. My photography and creativity has grown because of the connections i have made here and challenges that I have taken part in.

I joined G+ after seeing a post from +Nicole S. Young on FB and as I love food photography I somehow found my way to the food communities. I joined +börje ensgård and +Afner Hernández 's Photographing food Community. There is where I made my first friends on G+ including my longest G+ friend +Viana de León

Through G+ I got to travel and see a part of the world, fulfilling a life long dream of visiting Iceland with +Colby Brown and +Ken Kaminesky where I met amazing people that I still consider my friends including +Karen Kurta

Karen then led to me the +Chrysta Rae Scavenger Hunt where I stopped taking photos and started making them (oh, I do still take photos too - but I much prefer making them)
And because of this community I travelled all the way to Las Vegas to meet up with more than a hundred other scavengers and met in person, the friends that I had already made. And even though I am quiet at the moment here on G+ I still communicate with some of them almost everyday.

After the meet up +Jenny Loren and I went on a road trip and that is where we came up with the crazy idea that some of the scavengers might want to come and visit Africa. So we planned a trip and in less than 5 months we had a bunch of scavenger who (mostly) had never been to Africa, trust me enough to allow me plan the whole trip for them. +Jenny Loren +Joanna Koziara +Yvette van Teeffelen +Alan Bland +Windy Sawczyn +Sivani Boxall +Andrea Martinez That is something that I will never forget.

Somehow I came across +lane langmade's Style it Community and this is where I learned to push myself out of my comfort zone and envision a photo first before actually creating it. I miss her community a lot.

I have taken part in a few mentorships with +G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers once again pushing myself out of my (natural light) comfort zone with +Eric Raeber's lighting mentorship and learning how to be confident with my lights (this is still a work in progress)

I have watched with interest all the Selfie Sunday and Selfie monthly challenge with +Lotus Carroll  posts and only recently got up the courage to take part

So I just want to say a HUGE thank you to G+ and this WHOLE community. And let you know that even though I am not around as much, I am still around.

And it has begun. I have no photos in this hunt unfortunately but I am looking forward to seeing everyone else work.
We are officially on DAY ONE of REVEALS
from the 18TH ROUND
of the +Chrysta Rae Photography Scavenger Hunt!!!
Sponsored by ADOBE

What you are about to experience
over the course of the next 10 days is pretty awesome.
We play a game - 500 photographers and myself - a photography scavenger hunt.

What is the scavenger hunt?
Only the most inspiring, creative and fun way to learn your camera, push your limits, experiment, and shoot things in ways you didn't think you could.

I host this event a few times a year for anyone of any level of photography to participate.
I open the game up to 500 Photographers
I give you 10 items to shoot
I give you a period of time to shoot and enter your photos.
Then I have them judged by amazing photographers

I then open the albums up to the public - every morning over the course of 10 days.
There are 10 categories:
This is the first - the "*SHAGGY*" album.

This event is an amazing way to use your camera in new ways.
It gets you seeing things in new ways,
It helps improve your photography skills,
gives you a huge audience,
and let's everyone celebrate each other's successes.
Make new friends,
and be a part of a community of photographers who care about each other, teach each other, and inspire one another.

The group of "scavengers" that participate create a community unlike any other on G+.
Support, encouragement friendships even some #huntsmack is enjoyed.
We become a family over the course of the month.

This is a negative-free zone - I have zero tolerance for any critiques that are uninvited.
Please be respectful and remember that every person went out there and took the time to shoot these images
and put thought into them and tried their best.
As always, I am proud of every single one of you.

(NONE of the images were taken by ME - this is a collection of images taken by multiple photographers participating in the scavenger hunt. All copyrights apply)

With that - I present to you the "*SHAGGY*" album,
1 item seen in 220 different ways.
