I debated five stars for District Taco. Compared to other DC eateries, it's 5 stars. Compared to the world's eateries, it's 4 stars. Either way it's a great meal and we will ABSOLUTELY be going back. We each got three tacos. I got the barbacoa (beef), carne asada (beef) and fish special. All on corn tortillas. My favorite was the fish with its great sauce on it. The meat in the carne asada was *killer,* that taco (and the barbacoa) just needed some wetness, so I added salsa. We also shared a small guacamole with chips--very tasty guacamole, and chips that were nice but a little too salted. Overall, it was all delicious! Certainly helping is their salsa bar. There are five salsas, and they're all worth a taste. We ended up loving the pico de gallo (especially tasty!) and the darker salsa. For six tacos, one guacamole, and one chips, it came out to $19. A little more expensive than I usually see for these kinds of tacos, but absolutely doable and worth it. Finally, I really appreciate that their "frequent customer card" is by the piece, and not by the visit. This is one of those cards where it you get 10 stamps, you get a free taco. We ordered 6 tacos, and they gave us 6 stamps. I only expected 1 stamp, maybe 2 if we were lucky (one for each person). But 6! Very generous.

Awesome food at a great price. Two teenage boys were both full & satisfied, whilst my wife & I loved all the flavours in the food. Even the soft drinks (soda self serve) had a 'home made' flavour & variety that was a pleasant change from the large corporation drinks. Highly recommend.

I loved the tacos. They are a very decent price, nothing crazy like some of the other places in DC. I love how they have a few different options for protein. It's very simple, and so good! They serve the tacos the American way..with cheese, but I would recommend doing it the Mexican way with just cilantro and onions. So good! Also know where the food truck is! Definitely worth walking a few blocks to the food truck if it's close by for lunch.

This is the best approximation of good Mexican food you'll find in DC. The price is about right, too, at ~$3 per taco. I suggest experimenting with the toppings (veggies, cheese, salsas) and meats. The chicken is good, but my favorite is the carne asado. Beer, juices, and every Boylands soda you can imagine are offered.

I thought Chipotle was the best thing ever once they started serving breakfast burritos with chorizo as a meat choice. Now I can get chorizo at all hours of the day thanks to District Taco. Because I love chorizo so much, I was a little bit confused about why it was only listed as a topping, as opposed to a meat choice, but I like chicken, I like chorizo, and I like it when I can combine the two items to make one amazing taco (or three). They messed up my order once. I asked for a side of rice, and they put it inside my tacos. Not that I really cared, but I got to enjoy twice as much rice after they brought me a brand new side of rice. Yum. The cards they give you to identify your order are pretty cool. I really love it when I receive the purple elephant.

Stopped by for a quick to go dinner with my husband and his friend before watching the game at our place. Unlike chipotle where you point and watch your order assembled - you put your order right at the front counter. Loved that they offer fish, shrimp on their weekend menu and all their dishes were made to order. There was also a salsa bar where I must had taken one of every kind that they offered. My personal fav - the green sauce! My husband ordered their tilapia tacos and I opted for their veggie salad. Our orders were completed and given in no time. Foods were fresh and tasty. However, they didn't offer corns? And I'd much rather point, ask for extra spoonful of toppings, and watch my food put together. Although loved it a little less than Chipotle, would definitely return for their shrimp and fish weekend menu.

Not sure why a family from Dallas ended up eating Tacos in Washington DC but this was a very decent place. The salsas were fab. We had quesadillas. Definately a good fast low cost option in the District.
