Really interesting research shows therapy and a change in parenting styles might be able to prevent kids from developing anxiety disorders, according to new research.

I couldn't agree with this statement more:

"The biggest message Siqueland tries to impart to parents she works with is not to try to prevent anxiety, but instead promote their child's competence in handling it. If your child doesn't like to go play at friends' houses, they need to go play at more friends' houses, she says."

Children are capable of much more than parents typically expect from them, whether it's in the form of proper manners, respect for elders, chores, generosity or self-control. Raise the bar and your child shall rise to the occasion.

Are you teaching your child patience? 

If you're eating dinner and your child wants a refill of his milk, do you jump up to get it for him or finish your dinner first?
