The January thaw has passed and we are back to our usual winter temperatures, just in time for the Stowe Winter Carnival, Jan 19-27. The cold has also come with some light snow to freshen everything up again, and will keep the ice sculptures at the carnival from melting away too fast!

The Inn keepers are hospitality professionals.  Our room was large with a spacious bathroom.  The breakfasts are wonderful.  Very comfortable and worth the trip.

The British are all set to invade Stowe this weekend.  New England's largest british automobile show & celebration runs Friday - Sunday, Sept 14 -16, 2012.  Bring a jacket for the weekend, though. Friday's warm temperatures will be dropping by Saturday as a cold front comes through, bringing possible showers on Friday night and a high only in the mid to upper 60s for Saturday & Sunday.  Autumn is arriving in Vermont!

Lovely Inn with top notch hosts and excellent breakfast. We highly recommend this B&B. It is reasonably priced, in a great location and has beautiful, comfortable rooms. Guests are made to feel very welcome by Julie and John the Innkeepers. We greatly enjoyed meeting some of the other guests at breakfast. Homemade Chocolate chip cookies and beverages were available every afternoon. Julie and John make all the breakfast items from scratch.

Highly recommend. Warm and hospitable inn keepers. Lovely location. Very quiet and just a few miles from stowe and barre. Rooms extremely clean and well appointed. Julie is an engaging conversationalist. The breakfast was high quality. The gardens and decks are beautiful. We have stayed in our share of Vermont B&Bs, though we loved our stay in most of them, this is one B&B we will revisit.

The innkeepers, Julie & John, are a couple of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Caring and gracious, it was their friendliness that made an excellent experience simply exceptional. As an ex-engineer, Julie keeps the facility in top shape, and John makes the best breakfast ever. Our stay at Fitch Hill Inn was easily the highlight of our visit to the Northeast.

My wife and I stayed at the Fitch Hill Inn for Valentine's weekend this past weekend. The attention to detail was terrific and both of the inn keepers were warm and friendly. We highly recommend this for a stay away from home.

I had never been to a B&B before, and while planning a night away came across the Fitch Hill Inn. We chose the Green Mountain Suite. When we arrived, we were met by Julie with freshly baked cookies. She gave us the rundown of the room and explained everything in detail. I instantly fell in love with the bed, it was either pillow-top or foam, but it was soft and being a king, very roomy. It was really my only hesitation going in, and was glad I wasn't disappointed. We were in town for only a day, so we didn't get too much time to spend lounging around, but we did venture outside to the adirondack chairs and enjoyed a few minutes of peace. There were no bugs to be found to bother you and main road was far enough away that the sound of the cars was minimal. It would have been a great place to throw back a few drinks. I'm not too much of a jacuzzi person, but we did fire it up after a day of walking. The instructions make it fool proof to operate, and the jets felt good on our feet. The only downside I can come up with would be in the shower. It's a fixed shower head, and I prefer a hand-held wand, but that's a personal preference. I'm glad we got the room with a refrigerator in it, because we had gotten Cabot cheese earlier in the day and I'm not sure how it would have fared in our cooler all night. There's a small TV on a swivel mount so you can watch it on the couch. The room is a decent size, and plenty of room for probably 3-4 people to move around comfortably in if needed. The bathroom is much bigger than it appears in the photos online. Sunday morning came quickly, and we headed over to breakfast. I'm usually a eat and hit the road type of person, but there were a couple other guests and there was great conversation and it was a very relaxed meal from beginning to end. We had freshly made cranberry muffins, a fresh fruit bowl (granola, yogurt, local strawberries and blackberries), and french toast and bacon. When the French toast was brought out, it's two deceivingly small pieces. The bread itself though is very dense and very filling. Paired with OJ (pulp free) and tea, you weren't left hungry at all. The only thing about the trip that got me sad was that we only spent a night in town. I would have loved to spend a half-day at the B&B by itself just relaxing and taking in nature. There's so much to do and see in Stowe alone we're already thinking of places to go our next time up. However, we will be keeping the Fitch Hill Inn on our list of places to stay!
