If you're on the red-eye from Vancouver to London tonight... and you are hearing me coughing and blowing my nose a lot... and maybe even notice how often I run to the bathroom... then please be patient with me, and kind. I'm not contagious anymore, I promise. But I have to take this flight, because it's my ONE vacation this year, and I cannot miss it.

Thank you.

Yes. I watch Youtube videos about makeup, and often it's men who are fantastic at the art of applying makeup. Jack is also brilliant in replying to some of the mean comments he is getting every day. Makeup isn't only for women, just like pants aren't just for men.

I kinda miss the red bar... *ducks and runs*

Yeah. Getting old sucks. So I tackle the issue, and then I write about it.
If you're interested, the article is on my blog.

We're sitting in the dark movie theatre waiting for our show to start. The trailers are running... I recognize the premise right away: A train at the turn of the century, it must be "Murder on the Orient Express"! How fun! I'm a big Agatha Christie fan, so I cannot wait to see this movie. And there's a whole pile of fantastic actors to be part of this movie, but you don't see the main character yet, Hercule Poirot, the famous Belgian detective. I'm wondering in my mind who they will get to play the part, and then when the camera swings around, I'm horrified: Kenneth Branagh, with a fake French accent and an even faker looking mustache. I love Kenneth Branagh, I think he's a fantastic actor, but him as Poirot??? Aw, hell no. :(

Alright... here I go with my first review of a skincare product. I know this is a makeup collection - but without good skincare, no amount of makeup will make the average person look good. Plus, my first product is actually a foundation primer, so it sort of belongs in the makeup range.

An Ordinary Primer?
If you know me, you know that I spend a fair amount of money on skincare and makeup. So wherever I can save a buck, I will. But more often than not, the cheap products don't work as well as the expensive ones, and the purchase - albeit inexpensive - ends up not being used or in the trash, and that is expensive too! When I heard about a skincare line called "The Ordinary", I went to check it out and I could not believe my eyes: The most expensive product of the entire line is $ 17.90. Canadian. Yes, it's a Canadian company, but it has offices all over the world and it ships worldwide. Within Canada for free with a purchase of $ 25 or more. I ordered a couple of products without expecting much (how good can a primer for $ 5.90 be?), and I put the products to the test.

I don't usually wear primers. They are expensive, and often they don't work. I tried a few, and they seemed to clog my pores. But that means that 3 to 4 hours after application, my skin starts to "eat" my foundation. By the end of the afternoon, it is barely there anymore. I have come to accept my faith.

However.
However.
Well, yes. HOWEVER, after trying this particular primer for FIVE DOLLARS AND NINETY CENTS, and moving furniture for almost 4 hours this morning in a humid environment while sweating buckets, my foundation is still in place. I am absolutely amazed. I'm blown away. I'm sold. For $ 5.90.

I'm probably preaching to the choir, but if you have a few minutes, watch this. Kimberly is super eloquent, and makes a lot of sense.

After a suggestion from +Shelly Gunderson, I changed the settings on my G+ to allow comment only from my extended circles.

I am sorry, but until the spam is brought under control, I will have to keep this setting. :(

We had steak fajitas. Love them best with a bit of Dijon mustard mixed in with the vegetables.
