The New York Public Library allows users to virtually fly around the maps, seeing just how Manhattan has evolved.

I looked at the route and thought it was similar to the route that Boromir took - which was from the red pin to the shire and then to somewhere in the middle where he died - then I looked again, and it was far far off course - and I realised I missed the joke. What happens when a LoTR obsession meets a geospatial addiction.
