BRIEF HISTORY OF THE TEMPLE:
Sri Narayana Swamyvari Temple is situated in Mittapalem Village, Kovilampadu, Chandrasekharapuram Mandal in Prakasam District. Sri Narayana Swamyvaru is an Avadhutha and went into Sajeeva Samaadhi lively in the year 1750. Sunday is an auspicious day to Lord Sri Narayana Swamyvaru. Earlier the temple was admistered by the Trustees and in the year 1995 an Executive Officer has been appointed to the temple for administration. By that time the temple was under the Administrative control of the Assistant Commissioner, Endowments Department, Ongole. Subsequently, the temple has come under the Administrative control of the Regional Joint Commissioner, Endowments Department, Multi Zone-II, Tirupati.
The Temple remains open in all days, but Sunday is an auspicious day to Lord Sri Narayana Swamyvaru and a large number of Devotees visit the temple, for performing Poojas to the deities. There is a great belief that the Devotees visit the temple to have their bath, performing potash, obtain Vibhoothi and Pulakaapu Theertham, by staying on Sunday night in the temple premises, to over go their Skin Decease, illness and for Physical, Mental and Psychological relief. The Vibhoothi and Pulakaapu Theertham are useful to the devotees those suffering from skin deceases such as Sauriasis etc., for immediate cure. The Sapthaahnika Annual Brahmotsavams will be celebrated during Sri Maha Siva Raathri festival, in a grand manner. An huge crowd of the Devotees will be gathered during Sri Maha Siva Raathri festival. Aaradhana will be performed on Aashaada Bahula Sapthami of every year. In another word Sri Narayana Swamyvari Temple is not only an Holi Place but also like an Hospital, since a large number of Devotees getting relief and belief of Mentally, Physically and Psychologically. It’s a great belief of the Devotees that the Blessings of Lord Sri Narayana Swamyvaru will be showered from Lords Jeeva Samadhi.
