Two Bloor St. spots that deliver without fail. Guu followed by Bakerbots cafe. Burnt toffee ice cream sandwich on a blustery cold night, surprisingly warming.

It's been awhile since I posted. You can switch the steak for salmon which is how I usually make this, though tonight was indulgence. Next post will further illustrate that...

Rice: Pakistani long grain rice (better than Indian basmati in my opinion). Cooked with cinnamon sticks, a couple cracked cardamom pods, bay leaves, cracked peppercorns.

Steak: Ribeyes that were mingling awhile with olive oil, smashed garlic cloves, fresh oregano I bruised in my palm and a lot of cracked peppercorn. A lot. Seared in a heavy bottomed smoking hot pan till medium rare. Let sit for 10 mins before slicing.

Green Onion Ginger Sauce: Mince garlic, ginger, green onions. Pour over some heated hot peanut oil. Add in chili flakes.

Assembly: Place some rice and sliced steak on a plate. Drizzle over the green onion ginger sauce.

Tip: I dropped a dallop of hoisin on my plate too...

Looking at the full moon is quite pretty...

This though is the backup having just realized the thunder/rockets game isn't being televised for me :s

My snack cheered me, a bit.

Dessert.

Bobette & Belle. Best cupcakes in Toronto. Opted for a classic chocolate with dark icing. Reminded me of the choc cake from BakerBots. Indulgence...

For me, Sunday morning always feels better with classical tunes, and now that it's out, blasting Solo Piano II by Chilly Gonzales! http://chillygonzales.com/
