I have the Asus T100TA I am trying to get sound working on Ubuntu 16.04 can someone please help me with my problem
Could just be a question of updating everything.
Backup your old files then replace
* New firmware goes to /lib/firmware/intel from here
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B4DiU2o72FbuQmFST3VBQW00Skk
use an archiver to unpack
* New UCM files go to /usr/share/alsa/ucm from
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B4DiU2o72FbudmZtSHRYNDdqZzQ
* delete /var/lib/alsa/asound.state
* reboot will autogen a new asound.state
Note: keep the volume low until you know sound is working. Use the sound preferences in system settings to test the speakers before using other sound applications. If you hearing crackling or poping, turn the sound down immediately to avoid damaging the speakers.
You may want to update the kernel. You can get 4.11.8 here
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B4DiU2o72FbuRlJGTEhVcFBxSW8
copy the files to an empty folder
open a terminal in that folder and type
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
to install the kernel and add it to grub (advanced submenu). Auto detect of headphones might not be working, you'll need to manually switch from speakers to headphones...26w
Hi Gina, you can also try these linuxium install scripts: linuxiumcomau.blogspot.sg - isorespin.sh Now With Mint and Cinnamon to install the broadcom and ucm firmware.
They worked for me.26w
hey thanks john that did the trick for me to get my audio to work on the t100 with a 16.04 install and a 4.13.1 kernel17w
