At Saruni Samburu in Kalama Conservancy, one of the most abundant species is the Guenther dik dik, famous for its “long nose”…

A few days ago, a tiny orphaned dik dik caught the eye of our guests Sarah and Kristin Radtke, mother and daughter from Australia. Our staff rescued her and named her Sarah Lepina (Sarah is the name given by the guests, and Lepina is the family name of the guide Emmanuel, who was the one to rescue her).

So, welcome to Sarah! The smallest of the antelopes living with us in Samburu, as a nice contrast to the largest of the antelopes, the eland (named Nasujiaki) at Saruni Mara.

A fantastic outline of the Saruni Samburu experience in Forbes!
#safari   #travel   #luxuryholidays
Sundowners in a ravine, with Kenya’s sacred, flat-topped Mt. Ololokwe hulking before you, is as primal as Five O’Clock gets. On the short Land Rover drive down from Saruni Samburu’s crested perch, you’ll pass cute little dik-dik antelope scurrying in the bush, and gerenuk gazelles standing upright to feed on bushes. [...]

Introduction
Saruni offers stylish, authentic, classic, exclusive, wild and unforgettable safari and beach holidays.

Saruni Samburu’s six luxury, eco-chic villas are open and spacious, heralding spectacular views over Kalama Conservancy and Mount Kenya. As the only lodge in over 200,000 acres of unspoiled wilderness teeming with wildlife to explore exclusively, and guided by Samburu warriors passionate about their land and culture, the safari experience at Saruni Samburu is intimate and truly exceptional.

Maasai warriors guide you throughout, sharing their ancient wisdom of the area and animals and their fascinating way of life. www.sarunimara.com
