#CraftsvillaWorldEthnicDay
"For me, my ethnicity is my pride. I wear India on my sleeves. Being a mother of 2 grown-up beautiful daughters, I wish to pass on my rich collection of exquisite sarees to them and to my generations to come. Ethnicity is deeply ingrained in my blood and I’m not ashamed of it. I’ve always been dressed into the best of ethnic traditional wear as it connects me to my roots. Being a girl, born and brought up in Bihar, the genesis of Maurya clan, and hailing from the city of Chanakya, Patna, it was quite easy for me to adapt clothing which were prevalent all over my surroundings. When it comes to picking up my favorite attire, saree is indeed the one I love to be draped in…. almost always"

"As #CraftsvillaWorldEthnicDay is around the corner (June19th), I thought I'd share my thoughts on how much I love wearing sarees.
I am a strong believer of what my Grandpa once told me, "No matter how far you go in life, do not forget your roots!". And I never did. I come from Andhra Pradesh and the state has an age-old tradition of hand-woven fabrics with beautiful designs which have absolutely stood the test of time. I thought, on this World Ethnic Day, I would celebrate the beauty of this tradition. It'd be great to see you guys go out and celebrate too, in your ethnic wear!"

The Velvet Radio, Assam
Throwback to the time when I used to be excited about Saraswati Puja. Saraswati Puja is undoubtedly the most popular festival in the eastern region, at least, in the lives of the Assamese Youth. The girls would dress up in their best traditional wears such as the Assamese Mekhela Chador or in the Indian Saree. I remember. My mother dressed me up in a gorgeous green Mekhela Chador once. Another time, in a beautiful white saree. Probably I was in my 7th standard. I simply can’t resist the color white and hence I went for a complete white on white look.."
