Make no mistake. This is where we are headed with personal technology. The smartphone that is today an extension of so many of us, will quickly, in a few short years, transform us all into cyborgs. Whether you see that as the end of humanity, or the next step in our evolution, is a question I leave to you.

The moral high ground is a bitch to hold onto to.

Just bought an ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 and while it has great specs, some things are just amazingly slow. For instance, I enjoy SimCity BuildIt, but on this tablet, the game play is sluggish and choppy. Meanwhile, on my old Nexus 7 (2013), it runs smooth as can be. Am I missing something? For the record, as soon as I got it, there was an OTA update to Marshmallow which I allowed. Other than that, I've only installed a small handful of applications. Frankly I'm trying to decide if this is just a badly designed tablet or if I'm missing something really obvious. I'd love to hear your views before I pack it up and send it back.

And oldie but a goodie. "The Hacker Manifesto". Damn kids. They're all alike. http://phrack.org/issues/7/3.html

It should be obvious, and acceptable to observe, that God, if he exists, is a vicious thug. Blasphemy laws stifle debate and suggest that those who create and enforce these laws believe the evidence for God is so weak that it requires protection under the law. Kind of ironic.

Hey Google Plus Nexus 7 Owners Brain Trust . . . I'm still using my Nexus 7 2013 tablet for lots of day to day, including gaming. Trouble is, it's definitely starting to feel like maybe I need to look at something else. Time passes and all that. What, from your experience, would qualify as the Nexus 7's heir apparent? Is there a decent, not outrageously priced, alternative with at least 32GB of on board storage (like my Nexus 7) that I should be looking at? Those of you who reluctantly are saying goodbye to your Nexus 7, or considering saying goodbye . . . what are you looking at as the next step.
