After 3 days of mangling a very simple, not too human looking ear for Ike, I'm temporarily surrendering. Do aliens really need ears anyway?

After a long, long sabbatical I broke out the Blender in order to pull Ike into the third dimension.

I've set up a very basic mesh of facial planes; the equivalent to positioning bones and major muscles and tendon groups.
I've only set the meridians for his forehead, skull, and neck muscles.
The eyes are just placeholders I threw in the render so you didn't see through the mesh into empty space (i.e. they don't smoothly sit in the sockets).
No detail work, materials, or textures have been added to the render.

I'm taking inspiration from my other favorite aliens: Worf, Paul, Fred Astaire and Craig Ferguson,

Now is a good time for some genetic engineering.

Like:should his cheekbones go wider? Higher? Sharper?
Nose too long? Too pointy?
Eyes bigger? Deeper set? Smaller? Narrower?

In anticipation of filling out his skull -- how round should I go? Mars Attacks round? Paul round? Or ovalish?

Any other suggestions? I'll be working on the base mesh for the next 4-5 days so any and all ideas and changes are very, very welcome. I'm definitely looking for the +Arquillian community's input.

In the album I've included an image of the mesh as I see it while I'm editing, front and side view of the mesh after rendering, front and side view of the mesh after a smoothing operation is run.

Exactly. You don't really know until you teach. I'd only be helping you. :)

Crap, I just realized that if I delete people from a circle and if they're not in any other circle I just deleted them altogether. Apologies up front to all my peeps who think I just kicked them out of my life.

Ike in the 3rd Dimension - Skulls and Razors

I continued building out Ike's brain box today which included arching up and out his frontal cortex, emphasizing his razor sharp brow ridges, squaring out his chin and jawline, and drawing down his neck line.

His browline might be a little too pointy at the ends: are they saying Alien or Wizard?

I've included today's results in the album below. The black eyes are still just placeholders, and yes, that is a hole in the side of his head where an ear may go.

When I'm not on the internet it is because I'm spending time with these critters on the family farm in the hills of western Maryland.

Wilbur, the 50lb Gloucester Old Spot piglet, loves to be scratched and wrestle. He'll smile at you from between the slats of his pen so you'll come in and play with him.

The Katahdin sheep are addicted to sweet feed (grain covered in molasses) which they get fed in the winter when the pastures are dormant. Due to their addiction, they will put their heads in your pockets and make off with whatever they find, including your cell phone and keys, with the hope they too are covered in molasses.

Also, our sheep aren't wool sheep. Katahdin are more suited for being glazed or seasoned with rosemary. However, they do sometimes need to be sheared when their coats don't completely shed in the summer. However, the white dots in some of the pictures isn't flying fur, it's snow.

On November 14, 2012, members of the JCP (Java Community Process), Java EE spec leads, enthusiasts and developers got together at +Devoxx 2012 to discuss debate technical and community environment concerns within the JCP. Topics ranged from "please don't let the Java EE 8 JSR be a disguised cloud" to "can we have some community driven tests" to "is the JCP a policing organization".

To a certain extent Emmanuel also contradicted the idea of Annotation reuse, something fellow EE EG Member David Blevins presented earlier that day in his DevoXX talk as a possible improvement for EE 8 or even SE.
