I came here with family friends to check out a local band. We were fortunately able to make reservations beforehand so we had guaranteed seats. There is hookah available after 10pm. The food we ordered was good (falafel with pita bread) and the band was awesome but the place is so small got crowded quickly.

This is such a great addition to the neighborhood. Long lines at Harlem Tavern. Swing on over to Silvana. Enjoy their live music downstairs and eat some cheap authentic food. I like the sandwiches better than the plates. They have really good cocktails and a good selection of beer. The staff is friendly. My only complaint is that the music here can get weird.

It's such a treat to have Mediterranean food in the neighborhood. We've come first thing in the morning for tasty ice coffee (Brooklyn Roasting Co), and we came back a week later for dinner: shakshuka, pickles, dolmas, and sabich sandwich. The food is phenomenal. The lemonade with Fuji Apple juice is perfect on a hot summer night. There is live world music just about every night. We will be back soon to try the falafel.

Second time here. Always great music. First time was a DJ that was off the hook. Second time this guitarist tore it down on a random Tuesday night. Finally ate. Had the chicken Shawarma because I saw them eating it in the Avengers. Delicious.

Well that nightcap at 67 Orange wasn't enough, we walked down a few blocks to 116th and my cuz looked around and said, "wait, what's that?" Curious ears followed the trail to the downstairs basement of Silvana to a DJ and some revelers dancing to World Music (that term blows!), strike that, African music! We got a couple beers and I shimmied a bit while my cousin watched in shock. By the way, Modelo Negro taste really good on tap! It was a quick stop. People were emptying out by the time we finished our beers. It looks fun! A large space with plenty tables for sitting. A small bar with about six or seven seats. There's a DJ set up, but also a stage. So I'm making the assumption that live music is the norm here. Silvana is an alternative to the more busy mass that is Harlem Tavern across the street. And its right by the B & C train! I'll be back for a closer examination, more shimmiying and another cold Modelo Negro! A complete exhaustive blog post about the Nouveau Harlem to come very soon.

I've not been there, but I live in the neighborhood. They seem to think that I want to hear their music a block away in my apartment. I do not. If this is the way they introduce themselves to the neighborhood, I do not see good times ahead. Should anyone from the restaurant be monitoring this page, please know that I've complained about your noise already and plan to continue to do so if you continue in this manner. I will also make it a point to attend neighborhood meetings pertaining to this matter. People live here and that should be respected.
