We were able to get seated and served promptly and the food was pretty tasty. One thing that took away from the entire experience was the visible dust in the dining room, which had wall fixtures with at least 1/4 inch of dust well within site. When I'm eating the last thing I want to be thinking about is cleanliness!

Well prepared Chinese food. I had shredded pork, pickled mustard, rice noodle soup which was amazing. Extensive menu and inexpensive. Definitely authentic and deservedly of its reviews

I've been going to Shiao Lan Kung for almost ten years and it is literally the best Chinese food in Chinatown (this coming from someone of Chinese descent). I've taken so many friends there and have yet to meet anyone who has been there and not enjoyed the food - everyone I've taken has always walked away loving the food and planning their next visit. My personal favorites: salt-baked squid, honey walnut shrimp, boneless sizzling beef (and yes, it sizzles!), fresh garlic and broccoli, eggplant hotpot and much much more!

Delicious food, period. I generally don't seek out Chinese food, but this place has turned me around. The atmosphere is a near zero (very clean, but drab), but the food will bring me back for sure.
