Check out a guest post I did on my friend's blog - a recipe for pumpkin cheesecake, which FAR surpassed any pumpkin pie! Her blog also has awesome insights about yoga and fashion and mommyhood. Mama and More - Pumpkin ...

Letting go is hard
Right now I alternate between confusion and hyperventilation. All summer long, I was in this comfortable lull. E was mostly calm, mostly happy, and so to were the rest of us. We got into a routine of camp drop off, work, pick...

I am in awe of those who make blogging their life/work. I am not one of those people. I prefer to do other things with my time. I know I posted 2 months ago about blogging for mental health, and I have not written one single ...

Time to move on from blogging...at least from blogging about my daughter's eating habits. :)

I have a kid who is a bird and nature fanatic so we go here often. There is wildlife care center where injured animals are cared for and released back into the wild. They also have permanent residents (owl, turkey vulture, raven, kestrel) that could not survive on their own if released. We usually visit the care center first, then hit one of the trails for a short but invigorating hike, and then browse the gift shop (and often buy something). I recommend going earlier in the day on the weekends because parking is limited, and what is available has a time limit on it.

Just learned of this place from a former co-worker. Food options are limited, but what is offered was amazing. Their house made carbonated lemonades were the best!

We first went to Niebur's last year. After years of using Turbo Tax, our taxes were becoming slightly more complicated, and I had lots of questions. We were referred by a friend to Niebur's. Not only did he take our unorganized bundle of papers and streamline them, but he got our taxes done within a few days, and offered advice on how to minimize our tax bill for the following year. We are using him again this year, and are very pleased with the service and the advice.

We have been using Delivered Dish for years now (usually 2 to 3 times a month) and have only had food that was very late once. A few times they have forgotten a drink, but have gone to get one and bring it back after our food was delivered. If there is ever an issue with a food item, credit card payment, driver running a bit behind, we have always been called. The 15% tip is calculated on the food total, not the total including the delivery fee. (I just checked a couple past orders to be sure). I would give them a full 5 stars IF I was allowed to use all the tip choices. I typically do 15%, but a 10 and 12% option is offered. However, if you try to select it, the checkout total reverts to the 15% level.

I took the Tea & Targets class for women. It was well done, and made me feel comfortable with asking questions and with shooting. I have gone back once to use the shooting lane and had another good experience. I purchased ear and eye protection there at a reasonable price. It is located in a convenient place for those living on the west side.
