Along with +Jacob Biamonte and five other people, I'm giving a TEDx talk in Turin, Italy on Saturday October 5th. If you're nearby, consider attending! It's free, but you need to fill out this form - and the other form that's linked to this one - to get in.
My talk is called Learning to Live on a Finite Planet. The basic idea: the global warming crisis is part of a bigger transformation in which humanity realizes that the Earth is a finite system and that our population, energy usage, and the like cannot continue to grow exponentially. The transformation is inevitable. So the big question is, what can we do to make it more pleasant?
Jacob's talk is called Understanding the Limits of Knowledge. For a complete list of talks, and the schedule, go here:
http://www.tedxcrocetta.com/EN/
and click on 'Events', then 'TEDxCrocetta October, 5 2013'. The show starts at 2 pm and goes on quite a while. Crocetta is a nice neighborhood in the city of Turin (also known as Torino). I hope to see some of you there!
