I am a regular at Taipei in Castle Hills. The people are great, the atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming, and the food is top-notch. I eat there, all my friends love it, my kids love it, and everyone I take there wants to meet at Taipei over and over again. The combination fried rice, almond chicken, general's chicken, it is all terrific!

Friends have highly recommended Taipei to me, but I had been hesitant to go there because of mixed reviews on various sites. I dined there with my extended family and found the whole experience to be very good. The service was attentive and friendly, the food was well prepared and tasty, the restrooms were clean. So often with Chinese food you end up with sugary-high-sodium-glop on a plate, but we found the food here to be far from that. From the egg and spring rolls to the lamb to the shrimp everything tasted fresh and had a variety of spice and flavor. I will definitely go back.

Best! Hot and sour soup! My boyfriend and I have been eating out at chineese restraunta around sanantonio for a while, and the overall food here was not the best. The seasame chicken was not crispy at all which is something we like. Other than that the servicee was reallt great. Reallt down to earth people :)

The food is very good and the service is usually great. They have great lunch specials, especially the daily lunch special. I have been there many times for lunch and the food is very consistent. The hot and sour soup is fantastic. Unless you prefer your General Tso's Chicken and Sesame Chicken to be sweet and barely savory, don't order them.

Lunch is great, but the dinner menu does not make any sense. If you show-up after six the entrees don't come with soup, egg roll, or fried rice. I understand having to pay more, but the cost shouldn't almost double because it's 6:15. Their inflexibility completely turned me off and I won't be returning.

The service was good. The food was horrible. The kung pao chicken had some type of sweet sauce. It just tasted wrong. The honey walnut shrimp had a bland brown sauce that turned the honey walnuts into just walnuts. It was cooked with lots of celery. Yup, celery...LOTS of celery. There was nothing sweet about this dish. This place is way over priced for the crappy food you are getting.

It's a gamble. I have eaten at this establishment for over five years. Initially it was frequent. Due to the bad service with to go orders and dine in. I have found myself less and less compelled to stay a customer. The food is often changing and at times over cooked, reheated or just ill prepared. I have had more than half my to go orders missing an item. My order has been given to another customer. More than once I have been served something that I didn't order. When done right this location can make a great meal. Problems have been expressed with management only to have them remark" We make mistakes what do you want?" Simple: I want service and the food I pay for.

I cannot believe this place is owned by the same people that own Sushihana. We absolutely love Sushihana, great people, food is we figured we would try their sister restaurant, Taipei disappointing. Our server was not very nice, and worse yet, the food was horrible. My wife, my son and I ordered three totally different dishes, but yet, they all tasted the salty food. No freshness in the veggies, everything was just shelaked (sp?) in salt. I know typical chinese, but this was bad. I would stay away from this place.
