There have always been idiots and lots of them don't go looking for technology as your scapegoat for that. Also idiot is not a synonym for lazy.
There is a trend in the twitter-ization of social media - i.e. reducing communication to a few words and lines - trend which is obvious in the new google+ format which I tried, deeply disliked, then discarded as I reverted back to the classic version by clicking on the lower left.  Have human beings become so lazy as to no longer wish to communicate in a more intellectual way, with context and references as it's done in a 30 page science paper with 200 references? lol :)

My 2 cents is that the new g+ takes us backward on many fronts and forward only on some fronts (easy to share on twitter and facebook) - since it makes posting harder.  In the higher spirit astral worlds we have advanced telepathy, i.e. rendering 50-500 pages in 1 second via conceptual telepathy - no images or language.  What the New Google+ format is doing now is taking something that is more like that advanced telepathy and trying to make it more like verbal language, limited and unevolved, like the medium and low astral realms where some people live between lives.

One cannot reduce a concept that takes 40 pages to explain to 140 characters or lines, things are always ultra complex and nuanced, wars appear because people reduce everything to "minimal communication"  - like in 140 characters and black or white.  There are always 1 trillion nuances.

It's much harder to share things like you would in a scientific way - with more information - lots of features vanished that were critical to communicating ideas - turning everything into a expanded twitter like thing has a global "IQ lowering" effect. G+ old (or current for those who didn't switch yet) version is awesome and allows everyone to share a lot of useful stuff fast.  The new format can be an option for those liking a simpler interface and the old version can remain available for another 40 years. :)  Forcing the new version is a big mistake.

Einstein warned us that technology will lead to a generation of idiots, since we think that in a 10 word or line post we communicate:).  If everything is communicated via 10 words or even 100 lines, we will have warfare going on for a long time.  Please leave the two versions as options and let them work in tandem - don't destroy the old one.  Thank you so much for listening, if you happen to work at google. :)  ♥

Yep
Anytime you stand for something, you make yourself a target. If you want everyone to like you, you just keep quiet on all matters but some things are worth talking about.

Super cool
Netflix was updated today to support Smart Lock. Apparently with the latest version of Google Play Services in Android M, Smart Lock is a password manager / identity service.
