Episode 001 of Something About The Beatles is now up - not to be confused with the Pilot, although I will tell you that BOTH feature exclusive interviews with Mark Lewisohn.

http://somethingaboutthebeatles.com/001/

In this installment, Richard Buskin and I engage in a freewheeling discussion of the very first Beatles Christmas message - the work of John Lennon - Walls and Bridges - "You're Sixteen" - and All Those Years - Part One: Tune In.

If you listen, let us know what you think: what you'd like us to cover in future shows - what you'd like more or less of - any questions we can answer.

And yes, it WILL be on iTunes soon - this week, I think.

Thanks!

August 15: On this day in 1965, The Beatles played Shea Stadium.

This was the absolute high point of their touring days: 55,600 fans in the first stadium show for a rock band ever. As John would describe it later, "We had seen the top of the mountain."

This is a reconstruct of the film; the original TV broadcast was sliced and diced : http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xodm5p_the-beatles-live-at-shea-stadium_shortfilms
