Anyone out there using Atlassian / JIRA / Confluence for product management / dev planning? We are in need of an integrated system for devs/PM/resellers/support etc and wondering about how good it is in practice since it looks really good in the demo videos.

Great little web app that lets you turn your "public" stream from Google plus into a beautiful blog. I would love this vs blogger.
Google+ as your Blog (Concept using the G+ API)

UPDATE 2: +Will Norris and the Google+ Team have been kind enough to raise the amount of API calls that I can make so you shouldn't have too hard of a time creating your own profile now. I will look at expanding the amount of posts shown and profile updates in the coming days. Thanks for the feedback and support*

UPDATE 1: This has really taken off more than I expected. If you experience any problems creating your own profile, check back the next day when the Google+ API quota has reset.

There has been a lot of talk by bloggers on Google+ about potentially moving a lot of their blogging across to this social media platform. Whilst there is (for some) a much more engaging audience here, it does not really double as a landing page for writers to onsell their services or to display talent (other than writing/photography). It is for this reason that most will probably still continue to post to their blog as well as Google+.

I know many are holding out for the API to allow writing directly to Google+ but this seems quite a while off based on comments made by Googlers. What I am showing you now is a concept where Google+ is used as your content management system, and your blog is a mirror of it. The site is still customisable in every way that a normal websites allows, yet it pulls all of it's data for the blog from Google+ saving on rewriting/formatting. You can see all comments, and stats on +1s and reshares, shared photographs and video.

This is something I would LOVE to see Google integrate into Blogger.

You can see my own public posts as a blog here:

Or see what your own blog would look like by putting your profile ID in the URL. ID/

Please note that because API calls a limited at the moment, once they are used up for the day new profiles will not be created.

This is just a concept - let me know your thoughts

CAPTCHA FAIL. Dang, Sony is really, really bad at security, this is a great example of why they are so bad.
How not to design a CAPTCHA

Unfortunately Sony missed the entire point of a CAPTCHA. Instead of using an obfuscated image which is difficult for computers to recognize the characters, they include the CAPTCHA's unobfuscated characters in HTML and use CSS and JavaScript to make the characters appear slightly distorted.

While taking a Digital Image and Video Processing class (EE 371R at, I picked up a summer hobby of writing CAPTCHA breakers. Most CAPTCHAs can be decoded with a combination of Gaussian edge detection and XOR difference analysis with known characters. However this one falls to a simple regex.

Whoa just learned something cool about Google+. When posting, if you type in a "+" character and without spaces start typing someone's name, it will autocomplete their name even if they aren't in your circles. AFAIK it's autocomplete against a db of all public Google+ profiles. Sick. Thanks to +Logan Johnson for making me aware of that.
