Some of the best mac and cheese ever; garlic shrimp and crab bites were truly delicious! Lobster tacos were a great appetizer. Steak was cooked perfectly. And the dessert was to die for! First time here, but nice staff, great food and a great atmosphere have me wanting to come back! Love the 40s/50s theme!!

Shaw’s is a bustling (that’s restaurant speak for noisy), sprawling, traditional red leather booth place that serves shellfish, fish and sushi to a packed house every night. The extensive menu is filled with traditional items and preparations, and waiters sport traditional white jackets, although the service is anything but stiff. The menu begins with an interesting selection of (yes, traditional) cocktails, and some nicely thought out wine by the glass selections. The tuna tartare appetizer nicely combined citrus and avocado flavors, and was accompanied by ample dipping chips. Shrimp cocktail was a classic preparation, with good sized shrimp and just the right amount of horseradish. I particularly enjoyed the Caesar salad, which had a nicely balanced dressing, and thin wafer-like croutons with a lot of flavor. The Copper River salmon was good, not remarkable, but I really enjoyed the accompanying grilled asparagus. A side of au gratin potatoes was more like a dish of cheese and butter with a trace of potatoes under there, but it was as delicious as it sounds. Shaw’s is not a great place for quiet conversation, but it works well for a boisterous business dinner, or a group of friends that knows each other well enough that deep conversation isn’t on the agenda.

First time visiting and I decided on the downtown Chicago location. Took my gf for her birthday, had flowers delivered to the restaurant before my arrival. They made sure the flowers were kept in great shape and on my table before my arrival. She couldn't have been happier and more surprised. Our server, Kirk, was hands down, the best server I have ever had. Made sure everything went smooth and the menu explained since it was our first time there. Brought her surprise B-Day cake at the end. Everyone from the hostess to the server were professional and kind. Great atmosphere and the food was superb, very fresh and more than I expected it would be. Amazing experience and will gladly recommend. Thank you all again.

Best place in Chicago for fresh oysters and seafood. Shaw's has a superb brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The also offer half priced oysters from 4-6pm. Use the valet parking since it's only $15 which is cheaper than public parking in the area.

I hadn't been Chicago in years and KNEW I had to go here of an evening out while in town. Sat at the the bar and got to chat with an amazing bartender. The tuna and avocado appetizer was SO good. Dinner was fabulous and the rat-pack music gave it a very old-school chill vibe. Will visit again when I'm in town.

Disappointed. I feel that what I had are all much overpriced. Soft shell crab was awful and tasted strange that I even suspect the food was not fresh enough. I will never pay the same price to experience the quality Shaw provided. There are better choices of seafood in the city, I truly believe. Two stars go to the servers.

Very disappointed with service, but food was fine. This place has become an industrial tourist trap and out-of-towners will put up with the lack of attention and lines. If I am tipping a waiter $30 an hour for his services I will get more than the delivery of a plate of food. The management was aware of the situation and tried to make good on the problem. I give them high marks for that, but the problem is endemic.

Great food! This was my first time here and it was Lobster Fest. I am a huge steak critic and this is in my top 5 now. I ordered the filet and it was done perfectly, the crust on the outside was so delicious! Also the lobster popcorn was fantastic, highly recommend.
