This was nothing short of amazing! Although it was my first trip to Tar and Roses, I had to try one of their suppers which all seemed so well thought out and interesting. As it was described to us, the goat was purchased from a quality farm, marinated for days, cooked sous vide for hours and wood roasted for the finish. The resulting texture was perfectly crispy skin and goat meat with the texture of succulent pulled pork. Friends who didn't even like goat (yes I convinced them to come anyway) raved about this stuff. All the sides were great additions to the main course and very filling. The salad had lovely grilled elements and bold flavors. The cous cous was a good background. The roasted carrots were well spiced. Dessert was not too sweet (a fruity pie option and chocolate option). And the next day I got texts still raving about the goat. Just go try it already!

Amazing croissants. Buttery, light, crispy outside, tender inside, correctly seasoned. Better than top croissants in NYC and Boston.

The best croissants in LA. Get there early if you want all the flavor options. Plain is perfection which made me happy but I was surprised how good their chocolate croissant was, I never liked them before then. I have yet to try their almond croissant, they're only offered once a week during the weekend and I always forget which day! But It's a goal to try it!

Asparagus ($9): This side dish was a hearty and generous serving topped with bureaucrat and Romero. The vegetables didn't blow me away. I felt they were slightly overcooked. A sprinkling of coarse salt would be brought out the charred taste of the grilled asparagus a little better.

Great pastries & amazing croissants! Definitely on the pricey side but definitely worth it as far as I'm concerned!
