Oldie but a goodie. I travel out of DCA often and have rarely run into any major hangups there. Plenty of TSA since they have many separate gates, so you usually get in pretty quickly. The separate terminal can be a little bit of a drawback as it limits your food options since you can't travel terminal-to-terminal once you're inside one. Outside of the Delta/United terminal, there isn't much room for walking around leisurely, and I tend to be an airport walker when I want to pass time. Food lines can be a bit long and snagging a table could be an impossible mission sometimes. All that said, it's still one of the most hassle-free airports I've been to, especially for being located so close to a major city. It's easy, accessible and low-frills.

For convenience you can't beat DCA. Delays can be a bite but when all is said and done the most breathtaking landing for which you could ask is a port side seat on the plane landing on runway 19. Straight down the Potomac Kennedy Center , Lincoln, Washington the Jefferson Memorial a quick look to the right see the pentagon back to the left for the Capitol then a quick right turn and welcome to Washington DC and the great Commonwealth of Virginia

WAY more convenient than Dulles - and they are pretty efficient. Right on the Metro as well. Big, modern and clean airport...this is a hige compliment since most of the US airports are old and have poor infrastructure

Probably one of my favorite U.S. airports. Best part about National is the close proximity to D.C. You are literally 10 mins away from the heart of the city. Pretty good food options in and outside the terminal. I usually find myself stopping at Qdoba Mexican Grill outside of the terminal. All airport food is overpriced but its not grossly overpriced IMO. TSA lines generally go fairly quick and easy. Again depending on the time of the day that could change. DCA could use a little bit of updating but its not old and ancient. And they are making a lot of cosmetic changes outside of the terminal including adding new restaurants. One thing you'd like to see is more power charging stations. Its outlets throughout the terminal but a few power charging stations or USB charging stations would be great.

Super easy to get to thanks to the metro. Much better than Dulles in that regard! But food options there suck. Bring something to eat with you because it this airport is a food desert.

This airport, and US Airways hub is terrible. Confusing layout, with rude employees hard to understand. Gate closes10 minutes before departure. "It says that on the paper tickets" the rep cites. I don't have a paper ticket, it's in my email and doesn't say that at all. "I can print you a paper ticket" She barks. WHAT THE... do I need a paper ticket now for. The plane is in sight but they won't bring me to it. I cannot think of anything good to say about this airport or US Airways other than there is a nice view of DC. So many customers missed their flights AND THEY WERE WAITING AT THE GATE. Every name that was paged was pronounced by someone who appeared to have a 3rd grade education. I heard endless oversold announcements. One flight had to kick 5 people because it was to heavy! Are you kidding me.
