Thanks I have always loved this number by George Jones who was the best in country forever. The lyrics are what shines in this song with it's irony and humor born out in unstated pain and regret. Elvis did it justice and I loved hearing him sing it but the anguish was missing in his rendition.

Cool take on the inside of a great number, I like to hear that note bend a bit more but I would accept this one anyway. Just to get something different. I've got a couple Beatles studio in my stuff that's an attempt and has some of that laughter and wrong rode kind of stuff. Just shows that it doesn't just appear instantaneously with no work and effort or hit and miss.

That was L.A. Small parties in the projects, slow dancing to what will be songs that never "fade away". Lucky to have been there. Got to see the end of Beatnik, the Gas House on the Boardwalk, the start of Rock n' Roll, Doo Wop, Surf/Beach Boys a couple miles south of me (on the West Coast), Beatles/Stones/Eric Clapton,Sunset Blvd., Topanga Canyon, hell, nice positioning to say the least. Dumb Luck

One of my all time favorites. The epitome of a classic fifties tune equal to anything they produced in another amazing period, the Forties. Those high notes at  the end are incredible. Really wrings out the emotion. If you can't reach those notes to sing along, at least your spirit does.

Beautiful, a simple song with simple lyrics but very strong in meaning. Being a hat guy that couldn't hurt. Very instructive and it helps that your vocal delivery after the mechanics is very good and on key. Thanks

I loved that. It was like frosting on cake when he was featured on a show. Amazing how easy it was for him to transition between comedy and pathos.
Thanks

The working side of a great song in it's infancy.

Thanks, the lyrics just impinged on my consciousness and I had to copy/paste the lyrics in my file/Elvis. I needed to know that I'm singing it correctly. Then, I had to hear it in it's perfect auditory rendition.
So thanks for this gift, I will now replay it another five or six times while I cook that catfish I've got waiting.
And OLD, well so is/was Caruso! different but perfect in the heart, mind and vibration, (no matter the faults of a human trying to live up to an impossible image of perfection)

I really love the great Mills Brothers with their style and A Capella  ability (and story) but this is the version for my age and the one we danced to when it was new, I was seventeen, hanging around in the projects while my the rest of my family was in another world. Stays with you as a part of an adventure and leaves a soul imprint that can't be faked and never goes away.

Also one of my Django Rheinhardt favorites. He played guitar for a short time.
Thanks
P,S. make me want to buy a Uke (that may have been intended?)

Back when kids were just kids. I read that their parents didn't want them to be caught up with the biz and blocked their further exploitation. This is a song that I could play for my granddaughter without damaging her normal child naivety.  This an example of what was normal before the dive into what is politically held up as today's "Norm" a perverse world for more of that exploitation. Of course, I may be slightly opinionated, mores the shame!

Well, that one goes in my favorites no doubt. It was nice being the right age in the right place at the right time, a few off ramps up from them. We surfed the coast then the music came and talked about what we were doing. At that time a woodie wasn't a collector's item, it was just cheap enough to buy.
