From out of town, brought my Fiesta in for its regular service. The car has been dealer maintained every 7-8000km since I bought it brand new. Thought the service department was one of the best I've ever dealt with UNTIL I took a look at the service inspection sheet they had provided me, which showed that the brakes had been ignored. Wouldn't you know it, the day after I picked the car up the front brakes started to perform very poorly and made a very loud grinding noise. I took the car to the dealer to have it checked out, turns out the brakes were dangerously worn out. When I asked why they had not been checked, the service manager informed me that they had been checked, and that he had personally informed me the day before that I needed to have them replaced as soon as possible. I was blown away. I could not believe this service manager would LIE right to my face to cover up for a lazy technician. Basically told me I am irresponsible driver for driving on worn out brakes. What happened to the customer is always right? Needless to say, the accusations stopped pretty quickly after I presented the inspection sheet. The service manager maintained that he was "pretty sure" that he told me my brakes were completely worn out, but never admitted to his lie and never apologized. The reason I bring my car into the dealer for maintenance is for peace of mind, I expect my car to be thoroughly inspected as part of that maintenance. Both the front brake pads and rotors were changed at no cost to me, since I have an extended service plan. However, I will be avoiding Orchard Ford's service department from now on.
