I haven't been there for a while, but am writing to let people know that, according to news reports, the restaurant is closed indefinitely so that people won't make the drive and be disappointed. According to news reports the Chef, Mark Colby, was arrested in Mexico on September 12 after his girlfriend who owned the restaurant was found murdered in their home earlier in the week. That being said, I will miss the opportunity of being able to go to this place as it had character and the food was always good and they did not have an average run of the mill menu.

Whenever in Shreveport I always stop by the Noble Savage for a black & tan and a muffuletta, and I don't even like muffulettas. "Chef", the always colorful owner, certainly lives up to his name. Be sure to stay for dinner and try the wild game special as it is always interesting. Regulars come for the excellent food, the extensive selection of scotch, the good beer on tap, and possibly even for the live music. The only major downside to me is the somewhat grimy feel of the place, especially the bathrooms, thus only four stars. Though I tend to agree with his assessment, be forewarned that Chef does not carry many popular domestic beers as in his words "I don't serve crap". Fear not lovers of tasteless American beers, he does at least generally have Budweiser on tap.

The music was loud but enjoyable, service was ok; not enough servers, and the beer was very cold. Had a great time.

Not up to the hype. Food was bad, lighting was awful, service was good but not fantastic, and the music was so loud i could not hear the person sitting right beside me.

My favorite place in Shreveport. If you like bars that feel like bars, smokey, poorly lit, with live music and 4 star food, Savage is your home in this town. It will ruin other bars for you.

I've visited once for an early weekday dinner and three times late night. Each time I recieved beyond friendly service, great food, and cold brews. Great Guinness. Smoker friendly. Correction: I've now visited a solid 15 times. If I didn't enjoy it, I wouldn't go there, obviously.

Really mediocre food, but you will pay for much better! The live acts... well, to each his own, probably worse going on somwhere. Smells bad. The last owner shot a pistol at a med student for breaking a beer mug. I dont think he is back since the re-opening(?). Jam sessions are the typical clique/political affair. Tried to get up a few times but the house band abandons you to a group of EVERYONE who wants to jam, so its inevitably a disaster. Par for the course in this awful town. Smells bad. Sound is always WAY too loud. Get it together, guys.
