Papa's is a Spartanburg staple. The menu consists mainly of breakfast food, as the name of the restaurant implies, but also includes a variety of burgers and other options. Prices are reasonable, with fairly large portions. Think Waffle House, but better. The quality of the food is very good. If you're trying to eat healthy, this probably isn't the best place to go. The food isn't necessarily steeped in grease, but it isn't as lean as what health-focused restaurants will offer. Every time I've been, the wait staff have been super nice. Southern hospitality runs thick here, and patrons are treated almost like family.

The first shift cooks is unbelievable rude, as are the majority of the waitresses. Absolutely a horrible experience.

I ordered the "world famous" Spartanburger and paid the extra ($1.85 I think?) for half and half (OR & FF) instead of chips and a pickle. When the food arrived, there were four onion rings. I asked if this was all the onion rings in a half and half and she said yes, and when I looked up there was clearly an attitude in her eyes towards me. The fries (steak fries) were pretty good, but the onion rings were a cheap beer-battered knockoff and the burger downright sucked! It was bland and dry. Despite the barely edible food and the attitude from the waitress, I still tipped $4 on an order just over $8 because I know what it's like to work for tips. Needless to say, I am dumbfounded that their Spartanburger is supposed to be one of their major selling points and that PBN has met with the success it has. Waffle House is gourmet compared to PBN and WH sucks. What's even sadder is that food doesn't have to be particularly great to make me happy...I like most anything and PBN failed to live up to my low standards. Truly sad...And to make the whole situation worse, the entire restaurant was disgusting. It was unclean, unkempt, and visibly unsanitary. I cannot in good faith recommend PBN to anyone.

This place is ridiculous the staff is not Friendly and apparently the cook doesn't care about making food for a customer because they refuse to cook things without onions or the customers request! my wife and I waited an hour and a half for food when food finally arrived it was cold. I would advise no one come here for your sake just save your time and money just go to waffle house.

A few of my friends from the Spartanburg Upstate Pride march on 9/14/2013 went to this place after the march. They had Pride signs and equality stickers with them, and according to their reports, they were treated very rudely and offensively because of this. I guess some of their staff is concerned more with bigotry than profit. Thanks for helping to make South Carolina the laughing stock of the US.
