Some good news around pesticides - regulations work!  Attempts to regulate the worst pesticides have meant reductions in rivers and streams.  But there's still lots of reason for concern in urban waterways and plenty of reason to work for safer alternatives.
Regulation has helped clean up agricultural and mixed-use waterways, but the ubiquity of some chemicals in household products has increased the threat to aquatic life in urban streams.

So, here's the story in brief.
We pass health and safety protections here and in Europe for good reasons to protect citizens
Then, discussions being on a new international trade agreement.
The negotiations are closed and the draft agreement is SECRET.  No one but corporate lobbyists and government reps are allowed to see it.
Then we learn that the likely result will be to overrule health and safety regulations in order to make things easier for big companies.
Result: Terrible policy.
Pay attention to the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership even though it sounds boring!

More good news: Raising a ruckus and regulation works!  Groups are celebrating a new study showing chemicals that we have been campaigning on, and have won policy restrictions on, are declining in our bodies.  Yeah!
