The Opticians Association of Canada is pleased to welcome Luxottica as a 2017 Visionary Partner of the OAC. The OAC represents the interests of Licensed Opticians in Canada, with the goal to encourage professional and market growth. We partner with global industry stakeholders who share values, such as understanding the importance of services provided by a Licensed Optician. Luxottica brands are available in Optical stores across the country in both chain and independent dispensaries. Luxottica Retail directly employs Opticians to deliver vision care services to the Canadian public in all their locations and are ranked highly by their employees as a best practice employer. The OAC is delighted Luxottica has offered its support to all Opticians across the country by becoming a Visionary Partner of the OAC. https://goo.gl/EpTijD

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: OTTAWA (October 18, 2016)

Canada’s vision health professionals, which include opticians, optometrists and ophthalmologists, remind Canadians to be mindful of potential risks to their eyes at this time of year when wearing cosmetic contact lenses as part of a Halloween costume.

Todd Smith, President of the Opticians Association of Canada notes "It is no coincidence that all eye health care professionals are in agreement here. Contact lenses absolutely need to be fit by a licensed professional, the risks of injury are too great to ignore." Read the full release: http://www.opticians.ca/news.asp?idNews=191
