I just posted some thoughts on automating your release process to ensure that you never break the build, and the ensuing complications.

On a more general note, I've found development processes are a surprisingly interesting little corner of the world, and one that I learned almost nothing about in school...

A post on hierarchical features in Iron, our new review tool. Hierarchical features is my favorite part of the design of the system.  It provides a small and simple set of operations that give (to me) surprising power and flexibility for building release management processes, in a way that conserves your ability to do code review.

A fun section of Real World #OCaml: a guide to benign effects, like laziness and memorization, including how to use them to implement dynamic programming algorithms elegantly.

When trying to figure out the dedication for Real World OCaml, I talked it over with my brother, Yair.  Here's what he proposed:

For Lisa, whose power with words
Can parse into quarters and thirds
With hardly a look She'll improve any book
Even one that was written for nerds

And if only I was smart enough to come up with that myself I would have used it.
