Research published in Nature Communications demonstrates that the generation of an optimal immune response to cancer requires cooperation between two types of memory T cell; one circulating in the blood and the other resident in tissues. An extensive empirical study of 474 animal, marine and bird species finds the fastest creatures are neither the largest nor the smallest. The research, published in Nature Ecology & Evolution, mapped an animal's top speed versus its mass and returned an inverted-U–shaped graph, with moderately-sized animals like cheetahs and falcons on top. http://go.nature.com/2tbz97p
