I had been talking to so many AC companies over the last two weeks to find a package unit for my elderly mom whose AC is broken. I had called about 15 different AC companies in Pasco and Hillsborough counties and after listening to salesperson after salesperson tell me so much crap (and badmouth every other competitor) I then decided to do a google search in the St. Pete area. I saw Sub Zero Air Conditioning with 27 google reviews. I dialed the number and spoke with Eddie the owner. FINALLY I found the person I was looking for!!! He was so, so nice to me. He was completely honest which you can tell immediately after listening to what I had been listening to with the other people. (I thought used car salesmen were bad but they're delightful compared to these guys I had talked with) Eddie is so kind to talk with and so well informed on all brands of AC. He told me all the pros and cons on these systems. Eddie does not even install or service in Pasco county and still he spent his time on the phone for probably 30-40 minutes with me helping me and my mom so we could find the right system. I wish I could have bought the system from him but unfortunately he does not work this area. To finally find an honest person who tries to help someone who calls and he has nothing to gain financially and he takes the time out of his busy day to help a stranger is a rare occurrence, believe me. For two weeks I had AC salesmen on the phone or in person for an hour or more and I had to listen to their nonsense and B.S. ... let's call it what it was ... lies ... and maybe I got some information from them that was the truth but it is information I could have found online myself. What I needed is someone to give me the best advice on a system in our price range and give me something that would be a deciding factor. Not try to push junk on us for ridiculous prices so they can make a huge paycheck. The ONLY person who told me about Frigidaire's Quality Pledge was Eddie at Sub Zero AC. NONE of the sales people I'd spoke to that were even pushing Frigidaire mentioned it. Eddie told me about the QP with Frigidaire regarding compressor issues and how if the compressor goes bad during the 10 year warranty then we would get a whole new system not just a new compressor. He told me that it includes $250 to help pay the labor to install the new system. THAT was the deciding factor and now we know what package unit to get. If I hadn't known about the QP from Frigidaire I might be choosing another brand and what if my mom's compressor broke and I could have had this great bonus in the warranty. I told Eddie I wanted to do a google review for him because he helped me so much and helped my mom. It was the least I could do. If you are in Pinellas and you are looking for a fantastic person to work with for your AC system please call Eddie because as soon as you talk to him on the phone you will see what I am talking about.

I have been using Sub Zero AC now for 2+ years and they ought to be on Angie's List! Using Sub Zero AC has been such a refreshing experience every time they have come out to provide me service whether routine or emergency. Eddie is professional, sincere and honest. Sub Zero AC stands behind their work and I can attest to this. Last service call a capacitor that they replaced about a year ago failed. They replaced it at no charge for the service call, labor or part. Kudos to this company! Thank you Sub Zero AC for being the best above all the other big and small AC Service companies.

Because Eddie was unavailable for an emergency repair I unfortunately had to call another company. They came out and told me my AC unit was on its last legs and needed a new one. Then they quoted me over $5000 for a replacement. They scared my tenant by telling him that it could go out again at any time. As we all know that's not good in July in Florida. They fixed the current problem (a capacitor) and I told them to standby on the replacement. When Eddie was available, he stopped by, did a full check of the system and told me that nothing was wrong and I didn't need a new unit. Honesty. That's not something that is come by too often in the field of repair work. Eddie has a customer for life.

Great experience! David Stewart and a couple of workers came on a SATURDAY not charging us extra because it was a weekend. Our air broke and we ended up having to need a whole new unit. Not only did they work with us on the price, they stayed and replaced the entire unit that day. We were very thankful and felt the job as well as the people were very professional. Would highly recommend.

Eddy was just here and saved my day. The other guys wanted to charge three times as much to do the same work. Call these guys ... try and get Eddy if you can. That guy knows his stuff. Great Company !

Called Eddie yesterday and got an appointment for this morning. He arrived on time with his assistant, identified the reason my air handler was leaking condensation -- clogged drain line -- and fixed the problem promptly. I worked with Eddie before and knew he would do a good job at a reasonable price. Moreover, Eddie told me how to fix the problem in the future, making a return unnecessary! That's unheard of in my experience. What he suggested (for my unit) is that I get a small wet vacuum, connect to the external drain pipe and run a few minutes. Come back inside and wait for a whoosh sound indicating the line is clear. Disconnect the vacuum and add a cup of bleach. This operation only needs to be done every other month in the summer. Bleach should go in once a month when filters are changed. Thanks Eddie!

The guys were very friendly and professional. As some others have said, not only did they fix the problem (low freon due to a slow leak), they offered advice going forward to check where the leak might be and some ways to fix it. Would definitely recommend and use their service again

I had a crazy high electric bill after finding out meter was fine Duke Energy said it was something wrong with HVAC that was running 24/7 so I called Sub Zero. Eddie & Mike came right out found the problem heat strip and fan relay fixed it fast. Problem solved! Very fair priced & professional. They have a customer & recommendations for life!
