I’m absolutely ecstatic! The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which owns and hosts the Oscars, also runs the Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. With my script ‘Cracks In The Ice’, which is about the blood diamond war in Sierra Leone, I am an Academy Nicholl Fellowship Quarterfinalist.

“Dear Fiona,
Congratulations! You have advanced to the Quarterfinal Round of the 2016 Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. By doing so, yours is one of only 357 entries to emerge from the First Round.

With 6,915 scripts entered, the initial round was extremely competitive and made the selection of quarterfinalists a difficult task.

Good luck through the remainder of the competition.”

I deliver trainings about cyberbullying to parents through schools and libraries. I know it's an issue of great concern to parents. Remember that all of the social networks have Safety Centres in their Help section, where you can access lots of information about keeping your kids safe online. One of the critical elements to combatting cyberbullying is peer leadership among young people. Here's a great example from 13-year-old Limerick filmmaker/vlogger Luke Culhane – a new video highlighting the need to ‪#‎CreateNoHate‬ on social media in a stand against ‪#‎cyberbullying‬

It can be difficult to pull off a crowdfunding campaign successfully and today, I interview Ruth of The Stormy Teacup. With 9 days left to g

I have had the pleasure of working with Gerry Duffy on video productions on several occasions. He is an outstanding Video Producer. He is always incredibly organised which ensures that everything runs smoothly and every eventuality pre-empted. He is very calm on the video shoot, which puts everyone at ease, especially those in front of the camera. So whether you need a once-in-a-lifetime event - e.g. your wedding - filmed, or a corporate video with special effects like greenscreen, you’ll be putting the video in safe hands by hiring Gerry!
