This guys thoughts are tremendously interesting. It's pretty much what I'm thinking since many years meanwhile, I'm amazed to read all of this in a single article and on a blog of somebody whose writings have got an impact on other peoples reasoning. Great stuff!

"The worst metathreat to complex civilization is its own complexity, for that complication leads to the loss of many purposes."
That's a distorted view of reality, as it's only focusing on the component and completely ignoring other aspects. The big picture however is composing of more facets than things like the average individual target safety ratio of fulfilling self-determined intentions. It's a philosophic misapprehension in my opinion rather to keep in mind the human aspect and perspective when approaching a problem (the individual, the mind, consciousness, human position in nature) than to have a look at the big picture, which also isn't restricted solely to the anthill. The principle 'ant' that we are talking about is more than just that.

"Ich kann vor chinesischen Aktien nur warnen", sagte Vincent Strauss, Chef des ältesten Schwellenländerfonds "Magellan", der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Sonntagszeitung. Er glaube nicht, dass die chinesische Regierung die galoppierende Inflation in den Griff bekommen werde. Das Land sei "überinvestiert": Der Ausbau von Schienenverkehr und Straßen laufe zu schnell, es gebe riesige Überkapazitäten in der Zement und Stahlindustrie. Der Wandel von der Industrie- zur Dienstleistungsgesellschaft, der in den nächsten Jahren einsetzen müsse, sei schwer in einem kommunistischen System, in dem man Mängel nicht ansprechen dürfe. "Kurz gesagt: China ist ein Unfall, der erst noch passieren wird", so Strauss.

Sehe ich genauso, China wird etwas überbewertet.
