Deadline extended to February 11!
Deadline in 2 weeks! Please spread the word!

A fully-funded PhD position has opened at CBIO (http://cbio.ensmp.fr/) of MINES ParisTech and Institut Curie (Paris). CBIO is a very active group in both machine learning and bioinformatics and benefits from a strong scientific environment in the center of Paris.

The position is one of 12 PhD positions in cancer research offered in the context of a European Union Co-Fund program called IC-3i, which offers very attractive salary and working conditions. Applicants must have spent less than 12 months in France between February 2013 and February 2016.

The PhD thesis will be co-supervised by myself (Chloé-Agathe Azencott) and Véronique Stoven, starting in October 2016. The topic will be "Integrating structural constraints in multi-locus genome-wide association studies for improved biomarker discovery in breast cancer". You will find more information and the online application form on the program's website: http://enseignement.curie.fr/en/content/current-call-applications (ours is project #6).

The deadline is February 4, 2016. Please contact me (chloe-agathe.azencott@mines-paristech.fr) if you are planning to apply or for any additional information!

We're now inviting external participants to the 2nd Machine Learning for Personalized Medicine summer school, taking place at Institut Curie (Paris) from September 11 to 19, 2014.

The 2nd MLPM summer school is open to students, researchers and professionals interested in bringing together machine learning and statistical genetics to contribute to the development of data-driven, personalized medicine. The summer school will mix invited talks, scientific lectures and complementary skills courses to educate interdisciplinary experts who will develop and employ the computational and statistical tools that are necessary to enable personalized medical treatment of patients according to their genetic and molecular properties and who are aware of the scientific, clinical and industrial implications of this research.

More information (including an exciting list of speakers!) and registration: http://mlpm.eu/summer-school/summer-school-2014/
