CHARLIE BROWN 5 Years Old Mastiff & Pit Bull Terrier Mix • Adult • Male • Large Sophie's Circle Dog Rescue,
New Smyrna Beach, FL
Waiting 100 days for a family of his own :(
He is laid back and doesn't mind if you work all day. He just likes to lay around and chill and wait for you to come home. When you get home, he would love a nice walk and maybe someone to play ball for a little bit with him. He is fully trained, friendly as can be, adorable, and smart. He has been waiting for a long time now to find him a home. We keep saying the right home will come, but we are praying for a miracle now. Charlie is currently in foster under Sophie's Circle Dog Rescue.

ROCK 2 Years Old to be destroyed Tues May 26 Manhattan NY
A volunteer writes: Are YOU ready to ROCK??!!! If lively and loving top your list of perfect pet attributes then this brindlicious cutie might just be your perfect match! Rock may be two years old but he’s still such a puppy at heart, overjoyed by everything and full of love and rough ‘n’ tumble energy. From his leash to my camera bag, all the world’s a toy and Rock’s eager to investigate everything around him and to lick, sniff and leap up on benches and people alike. But don’t think this fun-loving fellow is all play and no work, he’s actually a smart little cookie and already knows how to ‘come’ and ‘sit’, takes treats very gently from my hand and is said to be crate trained too. We’re told he lived and played (a little too roughly) with a small child and he greets other dogs with the same happy enthusiasm he offers to people – when Rock ventures out into the world he doesn’t see strangers, just friends he hasn’t yet met! He adores snuggles and will burrow his head into my lap for face petting or lay beside me for belly rubs and given the chance he sneaks in a few sloppy kisses too! Rock has soooo much love to give but he needs dog-savvy parents to teach him how to share it in appropriate ways and while his high energy levels are not for everyone, he’d make a great addition to an active family who’ll provide all the attention and exercise he craves. A bright, affectionate and adorable boy who can’t wait to rock your world (in the best possible way), Rock is ready to roll right out the door and into your arms today! Another volunteer writes: Rock greets me with an open mouth happy smile and tail smacking the ground of his cage in excitement for his walk, sitting politely. When I walk outside he immediately jumps up on the bench out front and sits looking up to me with tongue hanging out happily. I give him some cuddling before we even go on our walk. It’s obvious he is a total snuggle bug and craves some cuddling even before he gets to relieve himself. Later I play ball with him in the yard. Teaching him how to “drop it” so he gets me to throw the other ball. He gets the hang of the game in no time. Of course we have to do a little more cuddling with his head in my lap before I put him in for the night. Come cuddle up to this cutie pie.

03/27/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Cindy came in as a stray surrender so her past behavior in a home is unknown. Upon intake it was noted that Cindy was loose and receptive to introduction. She did all handling, but did appear to be a bit uncomfortable of handling around the neck. During her medical exam, she was reported to be friendly and was tolerant all handling. When entering the assessment room, Cindy appeared to be nervous and need a slow approach for her to feel comfortable enough to interact with the assessor. She was a bit tense during the handling items, but allowed the assessor to conduct each item without issue. She was fearful during the tag interaction, but did approach the assessor at the end of the game with a low body and tail wag, and she was not interested in any of the resource items. Cindy would be best suited for an experienced adopter who is able to slowly introduce her into her new home, and allow her time to adjust to her new family and environment at her own pace. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is down, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears y back, lip licks. Tag: 2. Dog is fearful but unresponsive when touched. Approaches the Assessor when the game ends. Dog is crouching, and has a low tail wag. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are back. Food: Inconclusive, dog is not eating. Toy: 1. No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Cindy is very nervous and initially offers a slight lip curl when the male helper dog approaches her face. After, she is still very nervous but offers no other lip curls and remains with a tucked tail and lowered body while with the other dog.

SENIOR GINGER SNAP 9 Years Old~~Rescue Only~~ to be destroyed Wed May 20 Manhattan NY
A volunteer writes: I immediately thought of Old Yeller when I saw Ginger Snap. It was so striking that it blurred my vision of the shape this poor girl really was in. Indeed, Ginger Snap, an elderly Labrador Pittie mix, is quite run down. She was found in a park, very weak, barely able to walk, dehydrated, and unable to eat anything. Her eyes were blurry with a yellow discharge. She was immediately attended to by our medical staff and I was able to walk her slowly but surely to the yard. Gingersnap is dull, aloof, obviously not herself. She does not want me to clean her eyes but she accepts a scarf around her neck and my caresses. After a while spent together, she comes when I call her and even sits on command. She does not care for even the tastier treats. Other dogs in adjacent pens do not really pick up her curiosity. She sits or lays across me, subdued. Her body and mind are trying to stay afloat. Moving the least possible, resting is the wiser thing to do for the time being. Gingersnap must have been a beautiful dog while in her prime. Her care seems to have been quite dismal. She has had her share of litters. Not the life of a pampered pet… the wheel of fortune can turn. You can step in, give her a chance and take her home to let her recover and be the companion she should have been in the first place. Gingersnap is at the Manhattan Care Center, waiting for her savior.
