Our small, locally-owned restaurant recently celebrated its first birthday.  Our internationally-inspired dishes are healthy and our plates come back to the kitchen clean!  We have a range of selections for every taste, from steak eaters to seafood lovers to vegetarians and vegans to guests on gluten-free diets.  Please browse our different menus (brunchlunch, and dinner), or call to find out what our dinner specials are. Better yet – come in and experience our food!

We create all of our food from scratch (except our breads and sweet potato fries) and this includes all our sauces, soups, dressings and even our ketchup.

Our dining room is filled with local art – all available for immediate sale, with 100% of the money going directly to the artist.  Our staff is also filled with artists: musicians, dancers, actors, painters, and authors…

Looking for some interesting, great tasting, and healthy food in Indianapolis? Come see us at SoBro Cafe, located in the heart of Sobro, just south of Broad Ripple.

I've been here several times and the food is great. The staff are rude. It is a small place and so it is really easy to hear them when they make judgmental comments about the customers. Today the comments were about me and the whole restaurant could hear them. I was too embarrassed to stay for my meal.

Amy, I just received this news about your experience. I sincerely apologize for this. Generally our servers are sincere and we aim to have a friendly and nonjudgmental environment. Thank you for letting me know about this for I have already communicated with my staff about this. Sorry once again, and please allow us to make it up to you by offering a free meal on us. I went for a date night with my boyfriend and it was great. He had the chicken cordon bleu (he's not vegan) and I had the vegan red curry. We both really liked our meals and the waitress was very helpful. When she learned that they were out of vegan pita bread to go with our hummus appetizer, she upgraded us to the deluxe hummus platter and gave me toasted wheat bread as a substitute at no extra cost! Great place to go if you want good food and theres something for everyone!

Great for organic, vegan comfort food. My Buffalo Tempeh was delicious. Great find in Indy!

Given the other high reviews, we might have been to the cafe on an off day. My girlfriend and I came for brunch and each had a coffee. I got the bacon skillet and she had the mushroom. We did not get a refill of our coffee until the waitress brought us some to go with our check. The potatoes in the skillets were beyond salty. With the mushroom skillet, we were expecting a mushroom flavored dish, however it wasn't and the sauce on it tasted of flour. We will give them another chance given the other glowing reviews, but our first experience was definitely subpar.

I love this place. I couldn't decide between the bison burger the salmon or the cilantro pesto chicken. In the end I went with the bison burger which was great and definitely not too dry.

From the reviews it seem like the place to go but I now wish I haven't gone. The service was extremely slow and it took awhile for my group of 6 to be seated. Once we placed our order we wait for an hour to get our food and constantly had to ask for refills. When the food finally came I would say it was average at best and some of it came out cold. Getting are bill was another "slow" process. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I wish we would have left like some of the other groups did.

Amazing food from quality ingredients. They've got some talent back in the kitchen, yet we've yet to see the dining room full.
