I live around the corner from Rowe's and I get food from there quite often. I usually order the snapper in brown stew, a small dinner is more than enough for one person and is only $10. This comes with rice, peas, plantains and cabbage with carrots. It is my personal favorite but everything else I have tried has also been wonderful including the veggie patties with coco bread and the ginger tea which is a good beverage to drink in the morning, they use only honey to sweeten it and this is good for the throat in the morning if you feel ill. The ginger is wonderful for the stomach and bladder. I have yet to try the porridge but that is next on my list. I don't eat meat but I have heard good things about the oxtail, jerk chicken and assorted stews. I also had the vegetarian roti recently and it was slamming. There is a lot of good care put into the food and the service is always excellent. There is space to sit down for two people and they also do free deliveries for orders over $10. I have never had a meal I did not like there and if you are planning on spending $10 for lunch or dinner anywhere in this vicinity there is really no place else you should go. I must say that I really enjoy going to Rowe's, its been a great addition to the neighborhood and I strongly recommend you visit soon. Rowe is also a very nice guy and he loves to chat with his patrons so don't be shy. Tell him Rasheed sent you!

This restaurant was recommend by a co-worker, who told me to try the Oxtail and baby they were right. Tasty, season just right, meat melts off the bone and the rice and peas is heaven on the palate. As a West Indian, this got my highest compliments, until today. I spent $11.98, for the oxtail dinner with a kiwi snapple, only to be disappointed for a third time in a row. Managers, owner or whatever, take a hint from a foodie. There is seven days in a week, you get one time to mess up. The other six days, the food has to have the same consistence and I am just not getting that. The chef must be new or the last cook got fired. Please fix this!!! if you don't have a line of West Indians eating your food please stop calling it a Jamaican restaurant. STRAIGHT!!!

A lot of nice food for good value. Try the Ital Mosh drink, very tasty and healthy.

Why go to Golden Crust when you can get real patties around the corner? The owner and staff are very friendly and the food is always hot and fresh. Try the Ginger Lemonade. Spicy but a good combo with the jerk chicken. My personal favorites- chicken patties, jerk chicken and curry goat. The fresh juices are great too.

Every time I round my corner after a hard day's work to see Rowe's welcoming interior with Dudley inside, charming the neighborhood, I feel grateful! Indeed, he and his amiable staff create mountains and rivers of delicious, fresh food and juices at amazing prices. I have a bad crush on his Brown Stew Chicken with its velvety, spicy elegance and each time intending to try a new entree...but cannot seem to stray! A friend once had the Escovitched Fish and said it was divine. I am particular about my Plantains, which have just the right hint of caramelized sweetness around the edges. I'm also partial to the shredded cabbage/carrot medley, never over-cooked or oily. The Ginger Lemonade is just how I like it....spicy! Thanks, Dudley, for continuing your talents on Tompkins!
