On the radar

I have had a couple posts shared by some influencers recently, and that's no small feat. It is more important to note that they are infinitely aware that in so doing they were extending to me a bit of authority, and a bit of trust, which according to some theories impacts my visibility on the network. For me personally having a share like that is a powerful social motivator. It is a very high bar, these people have a very high quality threshold, in many ways it is why they have influence and authority. Quality is their business and when I, or you, get recognized for it there is an impact, a visceral, tangible, real world impact. So I have given some thought to how exactly I ended up on the radar, and over the next few days I will punch out a few posts exploring the question.

Make great comments

This is the first step, or at least it was for me. Honestly that is what got me to the dance in the first place. I didn't come here as a blogger or writer, a link dumper or a marketer. I came as a curious soul, looking for curious souls. Long before I ever considered writing real posts, I started getting to know people. Making great comments bring a unique value to a thread. The rule of reciprocity means that by giving value freely, people will find value in you, in your words.

It was my comments, and the reactions I got to them, that lead to me considering to try writing my own posts. It may prove to be one of the most profound decisions I have ever made. By interaction an engagement I was noticed. By being noticed and encouraged by extraordinary people I made the decision to try. By deciding to try, I found myself, found I had an undiscovered ability. That was my experience and each person will have their own which will be specific to the individual. I consider being shared by these people an accomplishment, and that only came because of my decision to try...

One has to spend the most time doing what he is best at. And all these units form a team. That's business today.
