Chef José Andrés' light, airy mainstay offers Eastern Mediterranean small plates & regional wines.- Google
"The food is very diluted version of Mediterranean cuisine."
"Love this New York-y feeling place - small plates, big taste."

From our arrival to G street across the street to leaving, my and my wife had a very enjoyable dining experience. I order a reservation online (OpenTable) for 9:15p, upon arrival our table was being prepared... a intimate table in this crowded spot near the very front door window. My wife loved the view and seeing the people. The food was delicous - Hummus, Hummus Salad, Lamb and Brussel sprouts (small dishes). Everything was to her liking and she is a very great cook. Again, I think she really enjoyed herself and was really impressed by my selection. Kudos for me.

We snagged a high-top at the bar and settled in for a few hours of cocktails and grub. The service was super slow at first and rushed toward the end - otherwise it was a delightful meal. Cocktails are unique so ask questions about the flavor profile. Same goes for the food. We had around ten plates on the able and all were well prepared with a clean flavor profile. Come early for the bar or book ahead for a table. #DC #Restaurant #Mediterranean

Excellent atmosphere. The servers were helpful in suggesting meals they thought we would enjoy based on information given to them by me and my date. Food was alright. The bread was terrible and bland, I've eaten a at other Mediterranean Restaurants before and the bread had a little flavor. I ordered a few things since the portions were small (the server did warn us). There isn't a appetizer menu per se the menu isn't really set up like that. I went here a few times and it was between Monday thru Thursday and it was packed every single time. My recommendation would be to make reservations before you go to guarantee you no wait times. All in all I enjoyed the experience and i would definitely recommend it and go again.

Very nice atmosphere but service was lacking. We did not get off to a good start with this meal as the pita bread they served was completely disgusting - it had no flavor! It was quite surprising that the one thing that is served to every customer was that bad. When we told our server, she couldn't care less. Secondly the service was incredibly slow- this is something that wouldn't have bothered us much but when combined with the annoyed attitude of our server, it certainly fell short of our expectations. The appetizers we ordered were good, but we were expecting better service and a better experience so we decided to cut our losses and finish our dinner elsewhere.

In DC for the first time looking for a middle eastern restaurant & we find this we go there all excited & order, noting that service & atmosphere was amazing! the food gets there it doesn't even look like anything like the actual fattoush or kebbeh nayeh everything was SO SALTY! And GOD! The portions, we ordered a supposidly family portion kebab plate u would expect at least 4 of each type got 1 of each type, then the bill comes 150$ For food that barely feeds 1 person literally each plate was barely filled. my family & I left so frustrated & now we have to go and look for another AUTHENTIC middle eastern restaurant because we are all still hungry. I hope this reaches the management.

Made my reservation for 4 via Open Table for our first lunch in DC. After reading great reviews and seeing that no children were allowed, I was intrigued. So apparently there is an exception to the no kids allowed because there were children at more than fifty percent of the tables. Lost 1 star. Service was sub par. Our server did not introduce herself to us, so I could not refer to her by name at the time and now. Our server insisted we order 4 dishes per person as that was the norm for the Mezze lunch? She also insisted that the dishes were small and four per person would barely be enough for each. We ordered a total of five and that was more than enough. It seemed as though she was not used to dealing with people that have not been there; she had a weird look on her face when asked for suggestions and she said "well, what do you want?" After breaking it down in layman's terms, she came around and began to help out with the menu choices. Her recommendations for food were good. We stayed with a salmon salad, which had a light oil dressing. We ordered 2 hummus, which had a citrus flare that have it a really nice finish. The Brussels sprouts came sliced and toasted or grilled with a delicious cream sauce over them. Next was the chicken kabob and salmon. Last, we had the wheat pancakes. All great choices and enough food for us. Overall the food was good, but the service was lacking, hence losing a star from me.

Excellent! We had quite a feast. 5 or 6 dishes, the cauliflower and brussels sprouts were really good but the roasted red pepper appetizer and the mushroom dish were the highlights. Expensive but awesome atmosphere and a very nice dinner when youre in the mood to celebrate.
