"In this new century, millions of people in the world's poorest countries remain imprisoned, enslaved, and in chains. They are trapped in the prison of poverty. It is time to set them free. Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings. And overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice. It is the protection of a fundamental human right, the right to dignity and a decent life. While poverty persists, there is no true freedom."

Can tomatoes lower kidney cancer risk?

According to a recent study, women who consume higher amounts of lycopene (an antioxidant found in tomatoes) have a lower risk of developing kidney cancer.  According to the study, women who consume high amounts of lycopene lowered their risk of kidney cancer by 45%.

Kidney cancer (medically known as renal cell carcinoma) is a disease that causes tissues within the kidneys to grow abnormally and form malignant tumors.  In its early stages, there are no obvious symptoms.  As the disease progresses, however, symptoms may include blood in the urine, painful urination, abdominal pains, unexplained weight loss, fatigue...

Of course, a single study cannot conclusively determine that lycopene is in fact responsible for lowering the risk of kidney cancer.  It, however, highlights the proven fact that antioxidants and other nutrients, contained in fruits, provide significant health benefits!

No matter what your life's ambitions are, it is important to keep one thing in mind... Your health matters much!  Far too often, we tend to place our health very low on our priority list.

While it is important to pursue success,  a great career, make lots of money, etc.  without your health, it matters little what you possess.  Many people who are very brilliant and have the potential to achieve much in life, sadly, fail to realize their potential, due to poor health.  And in many cases, their health could have been preserved, if they had made simple dietary and lifestyle changes.

Kidney disease is now an epidemic... In fact, the kidney is by far the most transplanted organ on the planet.  Why?  ...Simply because many people are not aware that their lifestyle and diet are probably hurting their kidneys and other organs.  Others simply don't care, until it's too late.

Take some time to learn about the significant role the kidneys play in maintaining optimum health.  Also, ensure that your lifestyle and diet are not hurting your health and your prospects of a bright future!
